The Brothers Karamazov

A tremendously entertaining work
This is a gigantic novel written by a literary giant. I can't recommend it highly enough. Although, I have to add, this is not a book you want to read in a hurry. The plot, the psychology and the philosophy that all make up this novel are intricate, thought-provoking and are best enjoyed if you can allocate many hours of quiet reading to this masterpiece. There are people who call this book the greatest novel ever written. This could well be. It certainly is a tremendously entertaining work.

Tough read
Not a page turner😎 Dostoevsky is somewhat boring ( perhaps it’s this translation)

type-o's
type-o's galore and bad translation. i have read a few copy's of this and this is definitely the worst lol. but it's good to write in cause i don't care about it lmao!

Missing Dostoevsky's introduction; many punctuation errors
The photo is one example of scores of punctuation errors. In this case quotation marks are missing. A shame the intro is missing as well.I otherwise enjoy how large the book is. Well made material wise, too. But the transcription is amateur to say the least.

Begins slow but then delves deep in the characters souls.
Starts very slow to list and introduce the characters which seem to grow in number until the end. I found the book to be more philosophic an psychological than plot driven. Supposedly it accurately depicts Russia at the time it was written and if so, it is very interesting.

Great book, cheap print
The paper and binding feel very cheap. The text often has typos, and looks like it was poorly copy and pasted from somewhere else. The novel itself is obviously an all time classic. Get yourself a different print

Many issues
I bought this book to use for my Russian Literature class, but it has many typos. Sometimes it repeats words for no reason and lacks punctuation. Also, there are no notes. Would recommend continuing to search for another alternative.

Damaged spine
The content, of course, is superb, but the book came with a damaged spine (though the shipping box was not damaged). This tells me the seller didn't care and knew (s)he could get away with sending an inferior product. Disappointing, as it was a gift, and the recipient immediately noticed.

A classic novel.
I understood the story but the translation was not great. I am sure if read as it was originally written in Russian it would be more meaningful. I liked it though.

Well-formatted Kindle version
I downloaded a few of the cheap 'Brothers Karamazov' ebooks, trying to find one with decent formatting and a working table of contents - this was the best I could find. Others had formatting issues like lines between paragraphs and no chapters in the table of contents.

a worthwhile classic
Perhaps seek alternative reviews on this book as my entire opinion rests on a single chapter. The psychological wisdom of The Grand Inquisitor.
