book is perfect regardless that it’s used.

I've been wanting to read this book for some time. I was really in the mood to read something thoughtful one night, and decided to purchase this. After the first few pages I had to stop; I wasn't sure if I would be able to continue reading. I can relate to everything, and some things made me incredibly sad. The author is so wise, and with the things they wrote here, they took you somewhere great--somewhere indescribable. This book is absolutely beautiful, and I will probably find myself reading it over and over for a long time. Not only does this book remind me of an old lover, but it also gives me hope to write things that are just as beautiful. This book is an absolute gift to the world. One word: Perfect.

I first read snippets of this for free online. I don't know what website it was even on, but I remembered the name and was happily surprised to see it available for purchase on amazon! I thought to myself "Really?? Could it be the same author??" And it was! Perhaps I was fated to read more of this beautiful work. However, I have one complaint. For me, the haunting and sometimes eerie images really detracted from the poems. One of the most beautiful things about poetry is the reader's ability to draw their own conclusions and meanings, along with imagining their own images to go along with the poems. So the author providing images seemed leading and just overall unwelcome. Don't get me wrong. The photography was good, quality wise, but there was never a time when I thought to myself "How nice, that picture adds to the poem!" Not once. Instead I found myself wishing I could somehow remove them. This is a shame because I'm sure the author put alot of thought and love into adding them for us. One sign of good writing is simply this; images are not necessary. Poetry is able to take something deep and complex and reduce it to as little as two words. THAT is the beauty of it! No need to add photos or imagery. It is your WORDS that should resonate (And in this case they truly do! :) ).

This book is just amazing. The best way, I think, to describe it, is beautifully depressing. This is more than a book. It is every thought in my mind and all the things I've yet to think. It's everything I've wanted to say, all the words I've never spoken. I've never read anything so beautiful and pure. This says everything, while saying nothing at all. It says that everything will be OK, no matter the circumstance. And it says that nothing is impossible, as long as you believe it. Love is a tragedy and this book just captures everything about that. It shows how beautiful love can be, as well. It just captures everything in such a powerful and fragile way. It is the essence of life itself and I feel like these words have changed me and given me hope. I feel like if I hadn't read this, then I'd just be empty.

I absolutely love this book. It's creative, poetic, heartbreaking, romantic and flat out interesting. After nearly every page I would stop and just say "Woww..". I love the layout, I love the photo's, I love the detail and I'm obsessed with the writing. This is one of those books that you go back to after a while and re-read and it's as if you're reading it for the first time. Definitely recommend. Keep in mind it's short, to the point, and the "chapters" are more like paragraphs or snippets but it works for this book.

I was attracted to this piece by the cover and the cheesy title. I came across it during a point in my life when I was emotionally and mentally exhausted and just fed up with everything. I hoped that something in this book was going to reach out to me and shake me from my fog, and it didn't disappoint. I loved this work for its stunning and sometimes strange images placed between all of the challenging, thought-provoking and quietly beautiful poems carefully put together here. Sometimes the poems are soft and tender, and sometimes they are jarring and elusive, but always they are moving in one way or another. This collection is going to stay with me for a long time, and I am so glad I made the purchase.

When I purchased this book for my Kindle, I really looked forward to having the same experience many of the other reviewers had of it being written just for me. There were many passages that did appeal to me and made perfect sense. Other passages seemed to appeal to a former version of me from my college years, when you have your first love and lose it and it feels like your heart's ripped out of your chest. A lot of the writing deals with the theme of unrequited love without much variation, so I think the book would've been better if it dealt with a broader range of themes that could appeal to more people in various stages of life. That being said, there were a few passages that were different, and I found those refreshing. I think the actual book is probably much better than the Kindle version because the pictures on my Kindle were very dark and hard to make out. Many of the passages' titles confused me as well- perhaps I'm not creative enough to understand how they relate to the writing- but many of the titles seemed to have nothing to do with the writing. But I'm sure that's just because I didn't sit there long enough and analyze it, and it probably would've helped to see the picture better to tie it all in. Three stars because some of the passages were just beautiful. My favorites are the ones about where to put one's hands when sitting next to a lover, the conversation with the Universe in a shop that sells happiness, being the sea and reaching the one you love no matter how they try to hold you back, the passage titled "The Nod and the Wink," and the passage about there being no coincidences. I'm glad I purchased this because it was something different, and for that reason it stands out.

I adored this book. It has something in it for everyone, and I will constantly be going back to read certain pages. It's haunting, it's beautiful, it makes you want to cry, it makes you want to smile, and makes you want to stick a fist in the air and scream, "Yeah!" with a pouty, "I knew my feelings were justified" look. I've already recommended it to so many people, who love it as well, and I will go back and read it all the time. My heart smiled so often...cuz it was written for ME. :-)

Amazing book, every page made you feel something. It pierces through your heart and the pictures reflect every word written.

So I came across this poetry book ' I wrote this for you' by IAIN S.THOMAS & I need to share my experience. Remarkable af , tbh there are few poetry books who did well with their art of imagery.
