I got this item for my SX260 camera to use for time lapse photography. It includes a dummy battery with a 4mm O.D. barrel jack on the bottom. The power supply puts out 4.7 volts to a 4mm right angle plug that goes through a hole in the bottom of the battery door (normally covered by a small, rubber flap).The system works well, although it may be hard to get the plug inserted securely. You need to twist it a little to get it to stay in and make a secure connection. If the camera loses power when you pull on the cable, the dummy battery is probably a little too loose. I fixed this problem by putting a few layers of electrical tape on the back edge of the battery opposite the connections to the camera. This pushes the (dummy) battery in a little further so it stays connected.With the connector coming out the bottom, the quick release connector plates for most tripods won't fit. It does work with mini-tripods that don't use a plate.I was also able to cut an old USB cable and solder it to a cable from an old wall transformer with a 4mm plug. This way the camera can use a standard, USB external battery instead of A/C power. It may be hard to find a right angle 4mm plug. The easiest way to find one is to just buy two of this product, and get a 2nd dummy battery in the bargain.Overall, this product does what it's supposed to do. It supplies external power to the Canon Powershot SX260 and other Canon cameras that use the same battery.

Not what I expected.

The Canon PowerShot S95 battery performance is awful, and I've been burned many times with a dead battery while my other Canon PowerShot takes pictures for at least 4 times longer.Having been burned many times, most recently Thanksgiving dinner at a relative's house, this is a great option if you're in a place with a wall outlet available (such as a relative's house).The fit in the Canon S95 was fine, and no adjusting or tape was needed for a perfect fit identical to the original battery. We'll see how it holds up long term, but for now, it's a great option when not in a remote area.Ordered from Amazon 3rd party "eaststar" and no issues.

This is purchased for an upcoming series of day trips and seems to be exactly what is required. substantial cords for the battery charger to be used in the vehicle. Adapts to electrical outlet to save on batteries when using at home downloading photos to the computer. Can't wait to put it to use.

Get a Power Adapter that plugs into your house.I use it when I'm in the yard shooting Wild Life. Sit on the patio and have unending power.Don't waste your batteries if you can plug into the house or an extension cord.

I ordered this, not sure if this would work, but it's great. as long as there is a power source, works flawlessly for interval shooting of clouds, capturing movement of any sort, such as lightning, etc.

As I had lost the OEM charger for my old Powershot, I needed a replacement. This one fit the bill and worked great.
