Inspiring!
I love looking through this book! Lovely patterns and color inspiration. I can’t wait to sew up a couple. There are a few errors within a couple of the patterns, however, the fixes are on her website. Before starting one of the projects, just take a minute to look up the corrections. When I grow up I’d love to quilt in my camper, too! 🤩 Lovely patterns! Great value! (I purchased this book used through Amazon. )

There are quite a few mistakes!
I saw another reviewer mention this. I just went through the book and penciled in the corrections. They do have them listed on the site but here they are just in case -Despite the many edits and eyes that read over every word in Simple Geometric Quilting, unfortunately a few mistakes slipped by. I so wish I had the time to pattern test every project, but short deadlines allowed for only a few.I’ve been catching and collecting those mistakes over the past few months and below is a list of corrections. If you find any errors in the book, please bring them to my attention by emailing [email protected] and I’ll add them to the list. Thank you for your understanding!Kalaloch PillowPage 29: Fabric dimensions for Navy 1 ½” x 10 ½” strips should be 1 ½” x 11” instead. This will give you a little extra wiggle room in the length when cutting your pieced strips.Antelope Canyon ThrowPage 43:Finished dimensions should be 66” x 66”Dimensions of T7 should be 6 ½” x 66 ½”Gold backing fabric yardage should be 4 yards and dimensions should be 70” x WOFNew Mexico Queen QuiltPage 81: Yardage for Natural fabric should be 4 3/4 yardsPage 83: The four Gold + Natural HSTs in the Row 2 strips should flipped upside down to create an “arrow” with the Seafoam HSTs in Row 1. See the finished quilt on Page 80 for the proper orientation.Yuba Crib QuiltPage 104: Step 2.3: “Do the same with the Army Green and Template B” should be “Do the same with the Army Green and Template A”Oregon Crib QuiltPage 133: The background colors of Yarrow and Spice should be switched - Yarrow is yellow and Spice is red.

Nice book, but note the mistakes
I didn't read the reviews before I jumped into the very first project in the book...which has a mistake in the pattern. I ended up needing to trim my pillow top down to accommodate the error. Not too big of a deal, I did end up with a completed pillow cover, just needed a smaller insert. I then read some reviews and went to the author's website and noted all the other corrections prior to my second project. I also purchased fabric based on the given yardage for both my projects and had plenty of excess. It's a pretty book and her instructions are easy to follow, just make sure you get the corrections before you start a project. I am surprised the patterns were not tested prior to printing the book...had I read other reviews first, I may have passed on this one.

Such a perfect resource for beginners and lovers of simplicity...
If you're a discerning intro-level quilter who wants to learn the basics but also wants to make something that you actually will be PROUD to display in your home or gift, this is your book. The well-designed patterns are so beginner-friendly and intuitive, yet look like they could have come straight from Madewell or West Elm.Laura's patterns are simple yet lovely. Now that I've made several quilts from this book, as well as quilts from other pattern designers, I can say that Laura really has a gift for designing patterns that are interesting, low-waste (you aren't cutting away half of the fabric to discard,) and really accessible. Of all the quilting resources out there, including paid sites, other books, etc., this book continues to be my go-to resource.(Word of caution: to her credit, Laura is very efficient with her use of fabric. The fabric requirements listed will give you exactly what you need and not much more. If you're needing room for "learning," buy extra.)

Amazing book with a few crucial gaps
I love this book.. amazing pictures and great patterns. One crucial gap in pattern writing - when a block is completed the complete block size is never mentioned after completion. None of the patterns have the individual block size mentioned, so you have to go back to the previous steps and calculate. Examples : pg 34 step 2.2, pg 109 step 3.2 .

Good for young people. Traditionalists would not be interested, but artists, travelers and minimalists would. I would have enjoyed more information on hand quilting as well as photos. The scenic photos are beautiful.
If you are interested in art, travel, photography, scenes of American nature, this may interest you. If you are already familiar with sewing, but have never made a quilt, there are basic skills, techniques and recommendations for must have items.

Beautiful Book
This is a really lovely book, great for someone new to quilting (but maybe not new to sewing altogether). There are lots of projects you can do, but it is set up so it highlights how to create a quilt using different shapes. So it is good for if you want to make your own designs or make hers!

looks great
Had a quick read through last night. Pictures look great, easy to read instructions. Like the narrative to each quilt as it gives a lovely feel to the project. Cannot wait to sort out fabric or buy and get started.

This book is amazing!
Not just because of all of the beautiful quilts, or the brilliant photography, or the excellent instructions but for the inspiration. I was so inspired by every quilt, every story, the colours and the patterns. Thank you for a beautiful experience.
