6' Portable Folding Aluminum Wheelchair & Scooter Ramp

Most dog ramp reviews reported poor durability of surface, early malfunction of the sliding mechanism, narrow width, and bending under heavier loads. Hence, I looked for an alternative. This ramp is easy to carry, unfold, and set up for the rear entry into my SUV; it does not fit the side door. That it separates in two for easy carry and set up is a great feature. Currently, I use only half at a time and It is totally stable: it does not buckle, wobble, slip or bend with 140 lbs load. To use as a dog ramp: I recommend: a thick dog blanket folded under the lip to protect car finish, and then laid over the ramp for a paw-friendly, non-slip surface.The blanket covers the sharp raised sides (good for wheelchair safety but not dog's paws), drapes the sides for a solid look less intimidating to the dogs, and becomes the packing cover for transport. Neither dog will walk on the uncovered surface and a thin blanket slides beneath their paws. I can set up or break down in 2 minutes or less now. This ramp's folded size is relatively easy to transport in the car, Beware: any ramp poorly secured or stored could be very dangerous!!. Half the ramp suffices, but the extra width for later is important. One stays in the car, the other in the garage for quick load and go. This ramp is more expensive than dog ramps, but far sturdier, doubly as wide, can multi-purpose, and would be easier to sell or re-purpose if no longer needed. Two people have already asked for info on it! Its downsides are the sharp edges which I protect with the blanket, and that it does not fit my side door.

I purchased 2 of these. The company Discount ramps.com was really great. They contacted me to offer a discount on one of the ramps, and in talking with them she directed me to their website for sizing. My Occupational Therapist recommended 1 foot of ramp for every 1 inch in rise of step. I had a 6 inch step, so I was going to order a 6 foot ramp. The Discountramps person directed me to their website which has a calculator for length needed, and that indicated I need only 3 feet. I ordered that, but when it got to my house and I used it, I felt it was way too steep for me to feel safe on my knee scooter (unassisted). I contacted Discountramps, they reordered the 6 foot ramps and shipped free of charge (since they had recommended the 3 foot ones). The 6 foot ramps work great, seem sturdy, have a nice rough surface.So my only caveat would be to use their ramp length calculator with caution. Otherwise, I really appreciated the company trying to save me a few bucks, then make good when that did not work out for me.

What a life saver! These are so practical and cost effective! We bought 2 folding ramps, because of the setup of our entrance. We looked into a wooden ramp and was given a quote 4 times the cost of these ramps. Love the portable capability, as we can take them to our friends or family houses to get wheel chair access.

This is okay... It gets the job done but it's not perfect.

Purchased for a floor removal machine to load/off-load in vehicles. It's more cumbersome than we would have liked but handles the job well and was much less expensive than the alternative from the machine manufacturer.

It works great is just what we expected. Delivery was longer than first told but the product is sturdy and well made

I bought this item to help my mother get into my house. It took 2 of us to do it the first time, but her visiting now is easier. The ramp is light weight and makes it easy to assemble and store.

This is a great portable ramp and I have bought one before, it fit nicely in my 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan, but when I bought a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan, it did not fit, the siding door does not open wide enough. It needed to be trimed down.
