Smelled really bad, poor coverage, I got a headache
I've painted A LOT, and use mostly Sherwin Williams, Olympic ONE and B. Moore. I gave Mythic a try, I really wanted it to be very low odor and healthier. It smelled up the house, more actually than regular paint does. It was a light gray color, so not a lot of colorant. The first floor STU-U-U-nk for two days - windows open. It took two FULL gallons to do two coats in a 12x16 room with lots of doors and windows, and I still see pale yellow peeking through here and there - the coverage is very, very poor. I never need more than a gallon with other paints. The final insult is the wicked headache I got and still have, and which compelled me to write a review. I am not happy with Mythic paint at all. You're better off with a regular low VOC brand. I bothered to write this so others who are curious and hopeful don't waste their money on this junky paint. BTW I emailed Mythic about the smell, and they never had the courtesy to reply.

I'm very happy with Mythic paint
I usually get a headache and sometimes feel sick on my stomach when I'm around new paint for more then an few hours. I used Mythic all-purpose primer on a new wall and followed that with Mythic eggshell interior latex paint on both the new wall and the surrounding older walls. While there was a low odor with both the primer and the paint, it was the mildest odor I've ever smelled in fresh paint and it did not make me feel sick in any way. I'm very happy with Mythic paint. I purchased mine from a local dealer in Charlottesville, VA. By buying it at this shop and not having to pay shipping, it cost approximately the same as other run-of-the-mill paints. If I do any more painting in my house, I will definitely be buying Mythic to avoid the headaches and the awful smells. While I'm not a professional painter, I have painted an entire house within the past several years using paints from Lowes, and I thought the coverage of mythic was the same as any other paint I've used.

Why we love Mythic paint
I'm puzzled by some of the bad reviews here regarding Mythic's smell and quality. We used it (flat, eggshell, semi-gloss, and gloss) for the first time recently to paint an entire floor of our home and had a very different experience. First, we were stunned by the total lack of paint odor. Second, it goes on beautifully. Our professional painter, who had never used Mythic took some convincing but ultimately had high praise for it. We also found it to be the least expensive of all the so-called "green" paints (it's cheaper to order it directly from Mythic than Amazon). We like it so much we are about to paint our entire main floor with it.

Good results, very little paint smell
I tried two other zero VOC paint brands from the box stores, but the smell from other chemicals was actually worse than normal paints. Have since found out that zero VOC does not also mean non-toxic. Mythic states they are both zero VOC and non-toxic. They have plenty of colors to choose from, but I chose two colors from another paint manufacturer, and my local Mythic dealer was able to do an exact color match. (Another plus is that the colorant Mythic uses is also non-toxic and zero VOC.)There was a slight paint odor when applying the paint, but within a couple of hours the smell was gone. This in contrast to the last zero VOC paint I tried which left a horrible odor for about 2 months. I did have to apply two coats of Mythic -- one just did not do it. It's getting 5 stars because it's the lowest odor paint I've tried yet, with fewer harsh chemicals, and with color-matching and two coats I can get the results I want.

Excellent product, however, company went out of business in late 2015.

similar to "regular" paint
This paint was nearly odorless (and what I could smell wasn't unpleasant) and I found its coverage to be just about the same as any other paint I've used -- it always takes me 2 coats to get an even finish with any interior paint. It's non-toxic, non-VOC, made in USA, vegan (I think), so it's about as ethical as you can get in paint!
