Compact Performer
I have limited space in my garage so I got some inflatable kayaks. While the setup time was reasonably quick I wasn’t really happy with the performance on the water. I did a fair amount of research and came across the Pakayak. This kayak meets all my needs. No roof rack needed. It all fits neatly in the roller bag which is fine for short distances. The place I like to go has about a quarter mile walk on pavement and the bag gets a little heavy at that distance but it’s manageable. The wheels are too small for rough surfaces and even grass can be a chore. The bag does have a single padded shoulder strap for carrying but at almost 60 lbs you won’t be carrying it far.The first time I set it up at the water it took less than 10 minutes. It’s now faster than that. Once on the water is where the Pakayak shines. I was amazed at how fast it was even in windy conditions. Putting the bag behind the seat really helps for back support. The seat is reasonably comfortable. There is very little give to it and sometimes I notice that my butt isn’t the exactly the shape of the seat. There is plenty of cargo space and deck rigging. Max capacity is 300 lbs. I am not a tall person so there is plenty of room. They say a person 6’2” will fit comfortably, but it seems to me that would be cramped.Overall to go from bag to water in under 10 minutes and have such great performance is awesome. I am thoroughly enjoying my Pakayak.

Good purchase
I’m very pleased with my new yak, tracks great, easy to assemble. Only thing I would change is the seat. Added some cushioning, problem solved. I’m 5’4” and 150 pounds.

DON'T BUY
There's a reason this kayak is no longer on Amazon and only available through the manufacture. The specs are not accurate. It's almost 20 lbs heavier than they say. People are buying this and primarily paddling on flat water. If that's what you want it for then save yourself some money and buy an inflatable for one third the price. Most people buy a touring kayak for extended trips that are open water capable. I bought the boat from Pakayak because there was no demo available in my area. They said I had 30 days to try it out. I can tell you that it's not comfortable, there's no way I would take this into open water and it's so heavy and poorly designed in terms of weight distribution that you can't carry it. (I normally carry my white water boat for long halls to get to the put in or take out and it's over 50 lbs). The boat is unresponsive yet does track straight. If you want to pay $2,000 for that go ahead. I returned the boat which cost me several hundred dollars in shipping and the company charged my a 15% fee due to wear and tear on a boat I paddled for 5 minutes. All in all it cost me over $600 dollars for a five minute demo and I learned that I would never buy a product from this company. If you do a search you can see that the reviews are hand selected by Pakayak (on their website) and they don't represent the full experience people have had with with boat.

Great idea and amazing product
Bought a Habanero-colored pakayak and love it! I've traversed lakes and rivers, not yet the ocean, and it has proven its worth. No leaks, easy set-up, and stows away safely inside my home. We will eventually be looking at a second one for my wife, so we can travel wherever together! While it's not cheap, it is worth every penny. I'm 5'11" and fit perfectly into the 'cockpit.' Any taller and it will depend on your leg length.

Not what they claim it is
I purchased two of these boats to replace similarly sized hard kayaks.First, the boats seems well made and are pretty ingenious. However, they are not particularly comfortable, probably due to the very thin seat padding and narrow backband. In my opinion, they should improve the comfort of these parts.Second, the kayaks seemed to be far less stable, either on primary or secondary, to any boat I have paddled. They immediately felt uneasy and it was overall not a pleasant feeling. I would not say this was a good choice for someone that is either new to paddling or is looking for something as a relaxing boat for recreational paddles. The biggest trouble is the experience with the company. The initial quality control was not too good, as I had both boats need remedial work to make sure that bolts were tightened and pathways for water ingress closed. Small annoyance, but better QC would be preferable before sending out a $2000 kayak. The biggest problem is the direct to consumer sales model and the return policy. After I decided the kayaks were not for me, I decided to send them back. While I don’t fault Pakayak for not covering the tab, be aware that a return will probably cost at least $250 in shipping.Where I do fault Pakayak is that they charge a hefty restocking fee of 15% on a product that is basically impossible to try before buying. In total, an interesting product that is probably more niche than they market it to be and one that you will need to be okay with $500-$600 risked just to try out.

Mon nouveau Kayak
