Great preparation for Civil PE exam
This book has some great practice problems for the Civil PE exam (breadth and depth). I bought several books to practice for the Civil PE Exam (with structural depth). Here is my opinion of all of the practice problems I purchased:1) "Civil Engineering PE Practice Exams: Breadth and Depth" by Goswami. Problems are ever so slightly more difficult than what I saw on the exam. But it served as great preparation. Some of the problems referenced out of data concrete and steel codes but it didn't matter.2) "Practice Exams for the Civil PE Examination: Two practice exams (and solutions) geared towards the breadth portion of the Civil PE Exam" by Goswami. Problems were about the difficulty level I saw on the exam. Great practice for the AM portion of the exam.3) "Six-Minute Solutions for Civil PE Exam Structural Problems, 6th Ed" by Subasic. These problems are much harder than what you will see on the Civil PE exam (structural depth). I worked through some but not all of them.4) PE Civil Engineering Structural Practice exam by NCEES. Great practice problems for the PE exam. Difficulty level was the easiest of all the aforementioned books but representative of the difficulty level of questions I saw on the exam.

Passed the PE Exam first try.
I bought this book to help me get ready for the construction PE exam and 100% recommend it to anyone who is getting ready to take the exam. What I really liked about this book is the difficulty of the questions compared to other practice exams. Because of this difficulty you had to have a good understanding of the material being covered to workout the right answers. This especially helped me in the subjects that I haven't looked at since college, like water resources or transportation. Overall I highly recommend this review book but would not start my studying with it, the difficulty may discourage you and rock your confidence at the beginning so I recommend waiting until you can work through other review test, like the NCEES, before going to this book. Once you're able to work through each question correctly you'll have that extra little confidence that you'll need heading into the exam.

Good for knowledge and study practice
This book gave me a variety of problems that were so much harder than the exam. I didn't enjoy most of it but it may have helped make the exam seem easy because it was so much more involved. You also learn a lot of pitfalls while solving longer and harder problems. Given the exam difficulty and reworked of the format after 2015, this book is harder. Gaswami's problems that came out after are more representative of what the exam was. However, it doesn't hurt to practice with these exams during studying so that you can figure out where you're weak or need to supplement your knowledge. They don't work so much though as a representative 8hr test but really good for study practice. So I think it is worth the purchase.

Great Review Exam
Great practice exams! The AM exams were a little bit more difficult than the actual exam, but if you know how to do these problems the AM portion will be easy. The Construction Depth exam was a good representation of what was actually on the exam. The practice problems are quite a bit longer and you may only need to do a piece of some of the practice problems on the actual exam. The only thing I did not like, is some of the solutions used equations that I did not specifically have or were modifications to equations that I was use to using. This wouldn't be a big deal if he provided units throughout his solutions, instead of just numbers. Eventually I was able to make sense of his solution, but it would have been much easier if unites were given. These exams paired with the NCEES AM and PM exams give a very good idea of what to expect.

Buyer Beware!!! Counter Productive Practice Tests!!!
I highly recommend against purchasing this set of practice exams for Civil PE preparation. The problems included are so much more difficult then actual exam problems that the book is a complete waste of time and is counter-productive.My experience in prepping for the Civil PE Exam: Purchased the NCEES practice exam, participated in the ASCE PE review courses, and supplemented the NCEES practice exam with the DeSantis practice exam; only then did I purchase and take the Goswami practice exams. The Goswami practice exams left me feeling a bit hopeless as I could not work through most of them in a 4-hour period with any confidence or accuracy. In reviewing solutions to the problems I found them to require many more steps (design minutiae) than are required in the actual PE Exam. The actual NCEES PE Exam tests conceptual design knowledge and is not designed to test one's ability to root out intricate design details as is required by the Goswami practice problems.Update - 12/16/2016California and NCEES exam results were released today. I passed all three PE exams (NCEES, CA Seismic, and CA Surveying) as a first time taker. Please trust that the Gosawami text is not needed to pass your PE exams and is likely to steer you in the wrong direction with regard to how prepared your are for the NCEES exam.

Extremely helpful in studying for PE exam!!
I love this book! The problems were extremely comprehensive. I feel like they were much more challenging than the actual exam, which prepared me more than the other materials I had onhand. For example, the problems in the Lindberg and one other practice problems book were almost over-the-top and too time consuming to be realistic. This one was the perfect middle ground for sharpening my skillset for the exam. There are two civil breadth exams and one depth exam for each other civil topic (geotech, structural, transportation, water resources/env). The solutions were quick and the most efficient method for solving that problem. The complementary book was a bonus, too. The tables were clear to read and the material inside was thorough, yet concise enough to not start from the beginning. I highly recommend this book for someone who is studying for the civil exam. I took the water resources version and I feel like the material was excellent.Update!I passed!! :)

Passed April 2019 PE Civil Structural Exam
I passed the April 2019 PE civil structural exam on my first try. I found this book helpful for my exam preparation. I solved both breadth practice exams and the structural depth practice exam. The practice questions were definitely more challenging and longer to solve than the actual exam questions, but they were still a good way to practice solving problems and understand/recall the exam material. For me, it made the actual exam seem easier. Some other reviews mention how the solutions in this book do not show all units, which make the solutions difficult to follow. Although showing all units would help, I found the solutions easy enough to follow. As long as you know the basic principles and equations, the solutions are fairly clear. I brought this book into the exam but did not use it during the exam.
