Dual Arc Lighter USB Rechargeable Plasma Lighter Waterproof and Windproof Mini Size for Outdoor Camping (Orange)

I'm a thru hiker and believe in multiple back ups for critical things. Fire, heat and purification is what fire sources provide. This little lighter fits the bill. Compact and water tight. I worked out of the box and as advised Ifull charged it. There's a little charging light to tell you that its charging. I haven't taken it out yet but I'm sure it will be fine. NOTE; I originally found this lighter on another website and out of curiosity I checked Amazon for the same or something comparable. I found the same lighter on Amazon the only difference was that there was a logo printed on the same lighter. The kicker is that it was marked up for twice as much.

We use it on the boat where it's windy. By the pool is great too, since fingers are always wet and it's breezy. It's not a survival tool, since a mini Bic would far outlast the lights and would start camping fires much better with a flame. If windy and wet is the problem, then this is the fix.

Buy some wax hemp string to go with this so you can have a normal flame as well as the starter and you'll only need to use the plasma for an instant.

Doesn’t last long on a charge, and kinda hard to get the mini-usb plugged in to recharge it. . . but it ALWAYS lights when charged. I have used it is freezing cold wind and mist and still does well.

I wanted this for various reasons. I figured I'd save money on lighters, I could recharge at a moment's notice and it would serve for emergency situations. Well the design is flawed in my opinion. You can't light a candle unless it a candelabra because it won't fit. The cap gets in the way. So if you lose power and need to light a candle / fragrance candle it won't work. Lights up paper or thin and small loose objects just fine.

I bought these for my wife due to the drop top I driver her around in during the summer. She's been able to light her death sticks with ease as I drive 70mph down the highway

I really didn’t know how these exactly worked. I thought it probably used butane and that the igniter was electronic. Wrong. All electronic. But it is the coolest thing. I love hearing the arc sizzle and it seems quite well made. Headed to the deep forest next week and I’m liking have this along as a survival tool.
