I spent a lot of time in Leeds (my mother's home town) when young and grew fond of it. The arcades, the trams etc. were wonderful. Over the years I have wanted a good book to show how things have changed as I doubt I shall be able to visit in person. Previous volumes have been disappointing. This is really good. Each page has a full-page photo of areas of the city with interesting comments. The facing page is a photo from exactly the same location, as it is today. The quality of the pictures is very good. Top marks to the author. Highly recommended.

Really pleased with this book. I’ve bought 3 as presents for Christmas and hope the leeds born folk are as happy as I am with them. Very interesting

This was bought as a Christmas present for my 89 year old Nanna who was born and raised in Leeds - she loves it, and it has started lots of interesting conversations. It’s really good value for money and looks more expensive than it is. Great find!

It's amazing how much Leeds has changed in the past 150 years. In the one picture with the petrol station in the middleof the roundabout, it's kind of too bad they don't tell you the price of a gallon of petrol or the equivalent in today'smoney.

Book provides photos and information about many well known areas within Leeds city centre. Interesting to see how the areas looked then and now. A very good book if you like Leeds history and one that you will keep coming back to.
