I love this book. It really is a helpful addition to my Korean learning supplies.The book is obviously for those wanting to understand Kpop lyrics but I feel it can be helpful to all wanting to learn Korean. That said, it wouldn’t be your only tool if wanting to do more with the language than understand and sing along with your favorite Kpop music. For example, the book may not give the formal version of words that you would want to know if speaking Korean with others.The author uses romanization in the book but also Hangul. Don’t Be tempted to just learn the romanization. If you are serious about learning Korean, learn the Korean alphabet! It is beautiful, simple to learn, and helps you understand the pronunciation of words more than romanization.I am not even half way through the book but have found some little jewels with easy to understand grammar help, pronunciation tips that I hadn’t found elsewhere, and information about why a word may not sound like it is spelled when a native speaker is talking fast (or singing).I love the idea that this book will give you the words, grammar, and phrases that make up 35% of Kpop songs. I was unsure what to really expect with this book but was so pleasantly surprised that I just had to share my experience with it. I see now this book may be out of print and hard to get. I say if you are a Kpop music lover, find one of these books if you can, new or used.Good luck on your Korean learning journey and I hope this review was helpful to you.

I bought this book as a complement to my regular Korean textbook and it fulfilled all of my expectations. It teaches informal Korean (in addition to the formal Korean I'm learning from the other book) and lyrics identifiable in Kpop. I wouldn't say it will prepare you for all (formal) situations but it is a great supplement to the knowledge you already have. It covered some topics and words I was interested in but couldn't find in regular textbooks. However it's good to know some formal basics first. I recommend this book for all people who want to expand their knowledge of Korean but who will remember it is used in informal settings and I'd encourage all to learn some formal Korean too :) Overall, a great book. Has many similar examples which helps train phrases and memorize them. I like the review sections and although I don't always get the correct answers, I'm getting better. This book is definitely a help for beginners like me.

It’s pretty good. However, its teaching 반말 which if used in a more formal setting (like when you first meet someone) it’s not the best, since the book is supposed to be more everyday and not textbooky. But the actual book and format is fun and easy to understand.

My daughter was happy to get the book, she's been studying Korean on her own for a few months and found a few new things in here.

The book is cool and printed nicely. You can't expect to learn a new language from one book obviously.

ARMY/KPOP fan here. Already been learning Korean for a year so I just skimmed through the hangul section. The rest of the book is really useful and stuff I hadn't learned yet. Only problem with the book is some examples are confusing but that's just part of learning a language I guess. Still only half way through as the lessons cover a lot.

You most certainly aren't going to be anything remotely like fluent after going through this book despite their claims, and the poor editing can be very confusing at times. But it's kind of a light and interesting adjunct to more serious study.

This has been super helpful to me so far! I got 2 books and have been using them simultaneously and this one is better. It says it’s specifically for Kpop fans, but honestly, I think it’d be helpful to anyone who genuinely want to learn Korean! I can actually read Korean now, that only took a few days! 만세!

I adore this book. It teaches you things that are actually useful, includes names of popular groups, teaches spelling, pronounciation and words and phrases that you’ll actually be able to recognize. Super happy with my purchase
