Dexter Outdoors 3" Clip Point Paring Knife

I like Dexter knives but this Dexter Outdoors 3" Clip Point Paring Knife has a slippery handle especially if hands are wet. Hand can easily touch the blade while paring. Be careful. This is the reason why I took away one star.

I have been using this for every day kitchen duty, and it’s pretty great for the price. All of my higher end knives have recently been retired and replaced by this line of Dexter knives.

I purchased this little knife as a companion to the larger chef's knife. I read about them in a NYT article by Mark Bittman. He wrote that for a small amount of money, you can buy a well made knife that holds an edge, sharpens easily and cleans up with little effort. He was spot on with this knife. I own many high end knives but I find myself more often reaching in the drawer for this one.

I was trying to match a Dexter Russell knife that I have and this one is a bit small and the handle is not as comfortable.But it is nicely sharp and handles well and you can't beat the price.

These are very handy. I've owned one for years. For small jobs usually grab it ahead of more expensive knives. I ordered a couple new ones and am pleased to say they are the same as my old one. Still love it.
