Product description Allergy Research Group - EDTA 300, 180 Capsules, Potassium and Magnesium A specially formulated dipotassium salt of EDTA magnesium chelate, containing 20% potassium and 6% magnesium by weight. A daily serving of 6 tablets supplies 1.8 g of EDTA complex, equivalent to 1.3 g of EDTA free acid. EDTA is a synthetic chelating substance widely used in the food industry to prolong the shelf life of food products. Degradation of food products is accelerated by certain trace metals present in these foods and EDTA binds these trace metals, thus delaying food spoilage. EDTA is also added to the feed of farm animals to improve absorption of essential trace elements, such as zinc.
