I used to own a Braun clock and this looked like a good substitute without the extortionate price tag. Its looks are a deligt - simple, clear and easy to see in any light, a very good Braun copy. Check the dimentions, its larger than the picture suggests especially the depth. It takes 1 AA battery so is cheap to run. Its very simple to use. It has two covered dials at the back, one to set time and one to set alarm. The large press button on top is easy to locate in the dark and will give you a 4 minute snooze when the alarm sounds or a light for the clock face. The light is a bulb near the '10' digit. It is brightest here but lights the whole face easily. It is not truely 'SILENT', although it is very, very quiet. Put it to your ear and you will hear a faint whirring sound- and there's faint a tick about every 5 seconds or so. I am very sensitive to sound and i can sleep with it on a bediside cabinet next to me - you have to listen very carefully to hear it and at a few feet away it is indeed inaudible. If you need absolute silence you need to buy a digital, this is the next best thing. It arrived quickly and well packaged and so far (2 weeks) has kept perfect time. It would have been 5 stars except advertising it as silent should mean just that, not 'very nearly silent'.

I have been searching without success for a 'silent' alarm clock and this is not one! Although it doesn't tick, it does make a whiring noise.

I bought this clock a few weeks ago and can now honestly say it's the best alarm clock I've ever had.It is completely silent, looks fairly stylish and has an alarm that doesn't put you in a bad mood the second you hear it.Only two tiny things might bother people, the snooze is only 4 mins, and to set the alarm or time you have to take the back cover off, but really this is a small price to pay for what is otherwise a perfect alarm clock for anyone a bit sensitive to the dreaded ticking.

Wanted this as a bedside clock because my watch, although luminous, is difficult to read at night. The clock is small, unobtrusive, easy to set and completely silent. My one concern is the light. It's a small single white LED set near the 10 on the face that doesn't light the whole of the face in the dark. I only need it in the dark so its a little disappointing.
