In a Nutshell: A Life Cycle Nature Book for Kids About Change and Growth (Plants for Children, Gardening for Kids)

Beautiful pictures. This book goes very well with the book As An Oak Tree Grows. I got this book to begin talks with my 6 year old about death based on reviews. It is OK for that, but it is more of a life cycle book as opposed to actually talking about death. For that, we found The Fall of Freddie the Leaf to be very helpful and age appropriate for gentle and scare free conversations about death with young children.

Incredible book: both the story and artwork. Very inspiring and deep, even as the parent.

It was my son's favorite book. I used to read it to him and by the time he was 2 1/2 he had the book memorize. He would read it to me. He knew when to turn the pages and everything. Definitely one of ours favorites.

Great book for those kids who need a purpose for life and death. My young toddlers enjoyed this book after we had a death in the family. We've also heard park rangers read this book on a hike before, has multiple uses.

Glad to have this beautiful book to pastdown within my family.

Outstanding story of birth, death, rebirth (the cycle of life) for children and adults. The pictures are very beautiful and attention grabbing.

Little disappointed. Pictures were nice but story very jumpy and didn’t flow smoothly. It also felt too short for what the author was trying to get across.
