Its Worth It.
As one reviewer mentioned. This cart slams! Way better volume, dynamics and bass response over the non "DJ" VM series carts. I have loved the clean and precise detail of my VMN95EN(3.3mv) but in comparison to my ATN91 stylus on a AT3600l cart(4.2mv) I would find myself listening to it more as an all around better setup. For a less than 50 dollar setup it punches above its class. Then I learned about these "DJ" carts with a 5.5mv output so thought well I'm gonna get one and put my nude elliptical on it and see what happens. Match Made In Heaven! Its all there. Low bass, detailed and punchy bass, dynamics, sweet mids, perfect controlled sweet highs, no sibilance. The XP3 stylus is alright. One reviewer mentioned it basically being a "cheapo ATN91" and I disagree. Its basically the 3600L stylus. Has the exact same sound signature to my ears of great stereo and channel separation, great bass, mids, and highs but suffers from harshness and sibilance. If I find myself needing to use a conical stylus it will be my ATN91 on a 3600L cart. In the meantime this XP3 cart with a VMN95EN stylus is staying on till its wore out.

Great all around cart -
Great cart, I don't use it for DJ. Needed something that tracked a little heavier. Assembled into a Garrard Type A MKII, headshell with spacers. VTF set at about 3.6g, auto-trip on the player works fine. Sound is good, a little shy at the high end but perfectly fine for an all around setup and also spinning some 45's.

Amazing Clarity - Music Sweet
My music sound really good, clear, crisp and loud just the way I like it. Assembly was a little more confusing than I expected but that might be due to how long I had my other cartridge. For the price, sound quality is awesome.

Easy Swap, Good Product...
Was running with a AT-VM95 Cart @ 4.0 mv, as I like the swap-ability of the stylus. Then I saw the AT-XP Cart @ 5.5 mv, same swap-ability, read some helpful reviews, and decided to give it a shot. Results are good, seems to bring out some more punch and detail.

Best DJ cartridge out there, has a much more balanced sound than the XP-5 and XP-7 which emphasise high frequencies too much. Highly recommend!

-Some Info for scratching- was looking for DJ cartridge for scratching with my digital vinyl system and I am very happy with the results that this product can do for the price. I used to have Techinics turntables a long time ago with shure M447 cartridges. they used moving magnets as well. recently got some Stanton t.60 turntables and I have found that the AT-XP3 cartridge works excellently with the straight arm on the stanton t.60 turntables (if you have a curved arm you dont have to worry about the angle, just pop it in). It took alot of experimentation to get the angle of the cartridge right but anyway I found that they work better on the stanton cartridge mount that came with the stanton t.60 turntable (the audio technica mount caused vinyl flakes but that is because it is a stanton turntable and required the original stanton mount for the right angle). The t.60 was a budget direct drive turntable ages ago. i got a pair of them second hand for £175. the torque is rather low in them but with enough cut out plastic platters under the slipmat and a nifty hand you can still do some good scratching with them. Anyway back to the product i am reviewing lol. I have the counterweight set at 4 grams for fast scratching. i think this is due to my turntables not being the best. if you have decent direct drive turntables then you would get away with a lower weight. If you are interested in this product for scratching and DJing, I strongly advise that you experiment a bit with them with some vinyl that you dont perticularly care about first (especially if you have a straight arm on your turntable). once you are happy with the setup and there are no vinyl flakes being chiseled out of your record then you can relax and DJ/scratch. -Some Info for listening to records in Living Room- Fine, however to be honest those green needles that the audio technica turntables come with on the ATLP series are fantastic and sound great, cheaper too. i use them for my 60's/70's prog rock on a low weight. when it comes to audio quality, I can't guarantee that this will make you any happier. Overall, a great product in my opinion.
