Great diagnostic tool for a lower price
I’m a dermatology PA and I use this every day. It’s a great value for the price! It’s useful enough to help me with my diagnosis while still being very affordable. I’ve only had it for about 6 weeks but so far it’s held up very well.

Great product
Easy to use, great opticals! Very useful for screening in primary care practices. Using this tool, a benign appearing mole actually had characteristics that warranted further evaluation and probable biopsy. More providers should be using this in their daily practices!

MD: Great views, cheap construction.
Agree with prior reviews. As a primary care physician I’ve used it regularly for patient care and teaching. No complaints about the quality of the optics but:Needs a holster to wear it on a beltBlack plastic nosepiece comes off too easilyWould like an option for the light to stay on without having to keep the button pressed (would make it easier to take pics with phone through it).Note: one really needs to study the features of various lesions - especially potentially malignant ones - in order to recognize them through this scope. Fortunately, good online resources exist. Ideal for a family physician.

Nice entry level unit appropriate for primary care use.
As a primary care doctor I see a lot of skin lesions. This device really gets me a very good view of skin lesions. The optics are really very good. I think this is good addition for my primary care needs and I need not spend more on a higher model.I will say the item does somewhat feel cheap in apparent construction (plastic) and did not include a silicone cover which would have been nice considering it’s cost. It did come with a plastic cone that holds the unit at the right distance from the lesion.Shipping was quicker than stated from the authorized dealer. They did send me the receipt earlier as a separate shipment.I will update if any issues. So far happy with it!

Good buy
Great product.Used it for over one year, easy to use and does what it supposed to do. No complaints so far. I am sure there are more expensive models that have more bells and whistles, but this one is a basic model and does everything you'd expect. Hence, it is a good buy.

Good Entry Level Dermatoscope
The previous reviewers may not have understood the instrument that they purchased. This is a dermatoscope and the price that you pay is for the technology, not the plastic housing. This particular one uses cross-polarized lenses that allow you a magnified look into the lower epidermal and dermal structures rather than looking at reflected surface light. There are textbooks published on what new things this allows you to visualize. This is 3Gen's least expensive dermatoscope. It is the one I carry in my pocket and use on almost every patient I see. I also own the DermLite HR Pro and the Dermlite DL3. These I use for enhanced visualization, fluid interface dermoscopy and dermatoscopic photography. The Dermlite DL100 is my workhorse, however, because of its convenience, weight and size. Other advantages are inexpensive price compared to other dermatoscopes, and the lack of the necessity of a fluid interface. The disadvantages are that there are structures that are better visualized through a fluid interface. The more expensive 3Gen products offer these advantages as well. The best "do all" dermatoscope, in my opinion, is the Dermlite DL3, but it carries a much heftier price tag. I think the DermLite DL100 is best entry level dermatoscope for your money.
