I’ve seen this style of mailbox on a few other houses in our neighborhood and really liked the look, so figured now was a good time to update our plain metal mailbox as well. In my search, I fell in love with this embossed style, especially the little bird on it - we plan on naming our house “Yellow Bird Cottage” (a common practice in the district) because of the new color. However, i wanted to customize it, so I had my husband spray paint the mail box gloss black and then custom paint the embossed bird, floral detail and “POST” to make it our own. We’ve already had multiple compliments on it! The mail box is slightly bigger than our previous one and will hold mail and magazines and even small packages. My husband did drill a few extra screw holes to attach it more securely next to the front door on our covered porch.
