Practically Perfect in Every Way
This rolling pin replaces one we used for many years that was damaged in a recent move. It appears to be exactly the same as the one it is replacing and performs identically well, i.e., perfectly. I would like to address two issues that some reviewers have raised about the pin.1. The sticker. Perhaps the company has responded to the complaints about the sticker being difficult to remove by changing the adhesive, but I had no significant problem removing the sticker. It is true that it did not come off easily and must be removed with some care, but I did not find it especially difficult to do. I carefully raised one corner with my finger nail until I had enough lifted to grab the label with my fingers. I then very slowly and carefully pulled the sticker off, pulling it back over its own face side. The sticker came off in one piece for me with no difficulty. There was a darkish mark on the pin where the sticker had been, but it was not at all tacky to the touch. I rubbed it with my thumb and it lightened significantly. I expect the dark patch to simply disappear over time with use. It may be that the adhesive is more of a problem on older stock items if the adhesive hardens with age. If that is the case, I would refer those interested to read the several reviews in which owners have found successful methods for removing the sticker. Also, the label was at one side of the face of my pin, where I place my hands in using it, so the label would not have been an issue (except, perhaps, aesthetically) even if I had left it on.2. The rough texture. Those who said that the pin is not well finished, likely are not bakers who have used a rolling pin of this type. It is deliberately left with a slightly rough finish, so it will better hold the flour that is used to "dust" the pin to prevent it sticking to dough when rolling it. Again, it is perfectly made, and functions perfectly, for the job it is intended. This is a great product, and potential purchasers should buy it without reservation.Incidentally, for those so interested, I have found that the Wilton Fondant 20-inch Rolling Pin Guide Rings are a tight, but functional, fit for this rolling pin. Best rolling pin ever!
This is a solid hardwood rolling pin. It is the made in the USA version. JK Adam’s was sold out online. This was $10 more than buying directly from the manufacturer, and I have one now.It rolls out dough perfectly and is weighty enough to do the work for you. I love that it is smoothly balanced with no uneven spots. I have used this with puff pastry, pie crust and sugar cookies. It works flawlessly and allows me to roll out puff pastry quickly without risking the dough becoming too warm. Unlike the tapered rolling pins, the entire surface comes into contact with the pin. Tapered pins can vary hugely in the taper - some only have 7 inches of straight area. I made the error of buying a tapered rolling pin, and I HATE it! So frustrating and takes too long to roll out delicate crusts evenly. To the reviewer who suggested buying a dowel from Home Depot: Just Don’t! Some wood is treated with chemicals that leak into your food - especially fat soluble chemicals. Also, a true rolling pin made of hardwood is heavier for the same diameter and does most of the work for you.

The Way A Rolling Pin Should Be
I've spent years dealing with inferior rolling pins, got sick of their weight and awkward sizes etc. I decided to go back to basics and set out on the search for a good quality wooden one. America's Test Kitchen pointed me to this rolling pin and I haven't looked back. It's fantastic! I don't even get a ton of dough sticking to it for cookies or anything. There are no splinters or deep holes which help there. Love this rolling pin!

Perfect for Christmas cookies!
I have an old wooden rolling pin that I've used for years. Every year after I was done making Christmas cookies, I was left with trying to clean the flour out of my old rolling pin's ball bearings. I decided to try this one and it's perfect! It was a little more expensive than some of the others, but you get what you pay for. I read several reviews about the sticker that is placed on the rolling pin and how difficult it is to get it off. Don't let that stop you! I used my hair dryer to heat it up and slowly peeled it right off. It was very easy to do and I wouldn't even think twice about it. Definitely recommend this rolling pin... It's my new go-to!

Who puts a label like this on something wood?!
Other than the stupid label someone put on it for whatever reason instead of plastic bag around it, it’s a great rolling pin, large and sturdy but not heavy and great for pies or gingerbread houses!

I LOVE This!
It's slightly bigger than I need but, after watching all kinds of ATK videos I understand why it's so big. Aside from that this doesn't disappoint. I LOVE THIS ROLLING PIN. I oiled it with BOOS after I wiped it down before my first use and it took on a beautiful color.

I love my rolling pin!!
I recieved this for Christmas atleast five years ago. I have since ditched all other rolling pins. All rolling pins are not created equal. there is so much control with this it is amazing, I didn't know others LACKED control until I used this. It is big enough to handle anything I've ever needed. Perfect weight, it is NOT light. perfectly balanced, perfectly straight. it IS just a bit rough, but it keeps the dough from sticking untill regular use get that nice oil finish on it. do NOT take sand paper to it. do NOT pay attention to anyone who says to. you are fine. little flour on it is all you need. no need to oil or treat it, just get it and go. beautiful and simple. Made in U.S.A. We proudly give it as a gift to anyone who loves to bake. It is a gem!

Great rolling pin
I bought one of these a few months ago to use at our beach house. I loved it so much I bought a second for our primary house. Nothing fancy, but works well, can't ask for anything more. It has good bulk and rolls easily -- just remember to flour it and don't press too hard when rolling it out (this is true for any rolling pin). I recommend buying the rolling pin guides that is in the "Frequently Bought Together" section. It helps make a great pie dough of correct and uniform thickness.

Great rolling dowel
I prefer this type of straight rolling pin better than the one with the handles at both ends.Easier to use and you don't strain your wrists and hands as much.Nice hefty weight too, but too heavy (like marble rolling pins)Easy to clean

Ease and light weight.
His is my first rolling pin without the handles. I love it, very easy to use. Great quality I would say a professional grade.

Its great, sticker is no problem
Grab some lighter fluid or one of many similar fluids to effortlessly remove the sticker, and ignore the poor reviews that are based on that, how these ppl tie their shoe laces is beyond me..

it's ok.
it. not as smooth as what I thought it would . There were some rough surfaces but it's no big deal for me. We've used it multiple times for our steamed buns and lemon squares.I like it better than or rolling pin with the handles on each side
