I did this with my eight year old and the instructions were blessedly easy to follow!I have a fun little hobby of trying out different origami follow along's, whether by book or by youtube, and one of the things I had struggled with in the follow along's is that the instructions always used the same colors on both sides of the paper. I kid you not, I failed so many SIMPLE & BASIC origami folds with all of those follow along's.This kit, however, was super easy to understand and follow!The paper in this kit are two-toned and the instructions use two-tone so you can tell the difference between which side is which.My only reserve with this kit is that the book does not include an index in the back so you can easily find whatever origami you want to try or quickly find.Otherwise, I do recommend this for y'all to enjoy!Side note, this has been more hobby than serious art, so know that I am completely amateur in the art of folding paper.

Got this for a girls’ night and we had a ton of fun folding all the cute papers! Instructions are a little confusing with the different lines for the different types of folds. However, we were able to understand most of them!

Gave to Granddaughter and she was thrilled. Age 8 - able to follow instructions and made several of the projects. Paper was nice and good quality.

This was a gift for my 10 yr old son who expressed an interest in origami. This has easy instructions he can follow, with paper included, it was a hit even a couple months later he is still excited to use it. It always makes me happy if the novelty doesn't wear off, this is a gift he will continue to use.

I thought this would be a great starter kit for my 8 year old, so we were excited when it arrived. He knew a couple of basic designs (‘fortune teller’, a frog, and a rocket ship) so we were looking to expand the repertoire. There are a lot of ‘flat’ designs, which was disappointing, as we find the 3-dimensional ones much more interesting. Another gripe is that the paper included is very thick, and not in a way that is helpful. It’s actually harder for my kid to make decent creases in this paper than with standard Japanese origami paper. A little disappointed in this purchase…

This was a Christmas gift for our 12 yr old autistic son. He has been asking for this for a long time. The directions are easy for him to read and follow. The variety of papers designs is ok wish there was more variety but he is happy with it.

It was me and my wife's first wedding anniversary, which is paper. I think you will all agree that my Mrs is a lucky lass when she has someone who gives her anniversary gifts like this. The instructions are pretty clear, though you do have to pay attentione to the diagrams to make sure folds etc are the right way. While 7+ years would make sense of it, I imagine kids younger than this may not notice the detail in the diragrams.It's a fun product, but be prepared to have paper everywhere! We have no kids, but our room was littered with scrap bits of paper. I even found some in my coffee one morning.

Elaborative images with clear explanations and papers included inside. Some of the diagrams inside the book are easier to follow than others depending on which pattern you follow. Overall it is great book for beginners

I've not done origami in over 20 years, so I wanted a beginner set I could use to refresh my memory on everything from basic folds, to the crane pattern that stumped me when I was nine.This kit is perfect for that. The instructions are simple, but very VERY clear (unlike the kit I had when I was first learning!) I even managed the crane successfully this time around.But even more of a surprise, for me, was the beautiful papers. I expected some variety of colourful but plain squares, but there's a gorgeous variety of patterns in this kit that makes for something really lovely when you're folding, as well as for the end result.

Nicely presented in the box and all you need to get started. Instructions a little hard to follow sometimes so had to use YouTube videos occasionally. My 8 years old daughter really enjoyed joining in too.
