Grand 12-Inches 16

I own just about every cd in this series put together by DJ Ben Liebrand and I find Volume 18 not as good as some of the other ones. For starters there are way too many slow songs such as Alexander O'Neal, The O'Jays, Gaz Nevada, Jellybean, Kleer and a "live" (why a live version?) track by Betty Wright. There are many standouts such as "Forbidden Love" by Madleen Kane, "Ain't That Enough For You" by John Davis and The Monster Orchestra. Glad to see Vivien Vee's "Higher" and Savanna's "Never Let You Go". The Village People's "Y.M.C.A" I could do without as I never liked them. Many of the artists and songs I'd never even heard of such as ones by Mystic Merlin, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, etc. I'm giving this 18th volume three stars because I think there should have been better songs here such as Liquid Gold's "Dance Yourself Dizzy and La Flavour's "Mandolay" for starters.

Much better songs from the master list of 700 all-time club disco songs should have been used. In 18 volumes in this series some in the all-time TOP 10 still haven't been used! Excellent sound, as usual.More space could have been utilized with an extra song or two.

As usually the Grand 12” series delivers some solid tunes for your collection.

I will be definitely be collecting all volumes of this series!!

Good but not as good as previous volumes. Much wasted space which was usually filled to the max. Many important all-time extended disco mixes which could have been used, still have not been used such as "If There's Love" by Amant and many others from the All-Time Club Disco International TOP 700.

This is a great series!! I have All of them. As a DJ these songs are great quality. As some posters have pointed out some are just album versions others are Ben Liebrand remixes. And others are hard to find 12 inch singles. All in All this Collection is excellent. Just Kiss Alone was worth it. Very Hard 12 inch to find.

Brilliant complication by Ben Liebrand - a 4 disc set with some gems, brought back many memories.

Another great CD for the collection hope there are more on the way please can you put Richie Family quiet village and cocoa motion mad as hell on the next one please

Qualità di ascolto indiscutibile con alcune tracce anche rare ma non impossibili da reperire altrove. Brani famosi e altri meno appetibili alcuni con ascolto molto buono fino all'ottimizzazione. Lo scostamento si nota per esempio dalle tracce recentemente rimasterizzate degli Art Of Noise e Donna Summer. I diritti musicali della maggior parte dei brani contenuti in questa raccolta appartengono direttamente a Sony Music. Tuttavia si potrebbe spaziare e andare oltre perché comunque questo genere di musica apparteneva a etichette discografiche misconosciute e ora defunte; una parte è acquisita da Universal un'altra ancora da Warner Music e così via... come mai? Eppure siamo di fronte a raccolte di tutto rispetto e come già detto in altre occasioni i primi volumi erano molto più selezionati in questo senso. In altri termini si "licenziavano" brani di altre case discografiche rendendo la raccolta più interessante ma allo stesso tempo rara a seconda dei brani che avrebbe contenuto.
