Disapointed
I have been a James Patterson fan for many years. Love many of his series. Killer Instinct, the second in the series, was very disappointing. Not because I did not like the book, the story or the characters but the author's political bias was quite evident in many parts of the book. I read and watch TV for pleasure not to have someone's political bias shoved down my throat. I have my own political opinions and do not shove them onto other people. If you ask me for my opinion I will give. If you like it or not is your purview. There are now 4 authors, rather famous ones, who I have loved for many years. However, their political bias turned me away from there books after repeated attempts to throw their views into a book. I always give someone the benefit of the doubt. But after this recurs, I am done. I know I am only one reader and it may knot mean much but still I will no longer pay money to have someone bias shoved at me. This is Patterson's first offense in my eyes. I will have to wait and see what happens with future books!

Not liking it ...
I'm reading this before giving it to someone who has recently been on a James Patterson book binge. Only 40-some pages in and so much is striking me in a bad way that I'm just not believing any of it. The writing style is too simple-fast like juvenile fiction where readers have only a limited attention span -- much more distracting than involving. On top of that, I just can't believe or like the characters or the plot. It all just seems like the new cliché. Male characters are implausibly big and dumb, unless they're gay, in which case they are condescendingly brilliant. Clever girl detective saves idiot cop boss from stumbling over a live bomb. The whole terrorist attack on NYC again, and no one except the clever girl detective looks to the sky. And the opening murder is more offensive than inventive. I'm sure there are better works of fiction out there. Not so sure I can hang in there and finish reading this one, much less give it as a gift.

Cheesy and simple
Not sure why so many give this 4 or 5 stars. It’s simplistic and full of bad dialogue like an episode of some cheesy tv show. It reads like a teenager wrote it about how they think it is to be some secret agent.

Did not enjoy the writing nor the plot
I usually give Patterson good ratings but not sure who wrote this book. It was poorly thought out and really left me with little choice but to give a poor rating

Love this book
I loved the first book and was anxious for this one. It was just as good. I hope there are more in this series. And yes, the characters will always be the actors from the TV show.

Killer Instinct holds my attention!
This book held my attention to the end! Another Patterson book that was not put downable. The characters were very believable with twists. Who ever heard of a gay CIA agent? Great yarn with lots of suspense and action!

Killer Instinct
Every time I read a Patterson book I am caught up in the intrigue of the plot and the ups and downs of the story lines. This book is in that category and I could not put it down for very long. It captivated my investigative nature and kept me involved till the last line. Good story once again.

9/11 plus
When Paterson writes a "proper" book and not terrible bookshots or something like the Chef then he cannot be bettered. I think this achieved it. Fast, twists, page turner a.damn good read

Express train ride...non stop
Another great book with our central character leading the charge. A great read with more twists and turns than a Disney roller coaster. A ‘ must’ read.

A worthy sequel
A decent plot, interesting characters, moves along at a nice pace.I read a lot of books by different authors and it goes without saying they all have their own style. With James Patterson, the books are uncomplicated (without being simple) with chapters that are short and sweet and rarely boring. If you want something that is easy to read, interesting, and exciting, this one's worth looking at.

Killer Instinct
This book really confused me at the beginning fist few chapters because as the characters were being introduced each new chapter began with 'I' but it wasn't made clear which character was 'I'! It took me reading a few paragraphs to know who the author was referring to. It's a fast paced read with plenty of adventure and very current with the terrorist attacks etc. Not my favourite James Patterson read.

I bought this but have realised I watched the series . I don’t usually watch the series as I build a picture in my head when reading the book but I really enjoyed this book
