Thought these were good. Fitted one correctly, and tested it to see the brush spin superbly. Put the cleaner back together and started to use it - 1 second later, kaput ! The belt snapped. So fitted the second one, correctly, ensuring I gave it lots of manual stretching first. Still very tight, but again the test looked good. Put the cleaner back together, and used it well for about a minute, before - snap ! The second belt snapped. I've claimed a refund as these belts are too clearly too small for the Panasonic MCE (455 in this case). A shame.

Arrived faster than expected. The belts were in sealed packaging which showed the many Panasonic cleaners the belts are for. As others have said, the belts are far smaller than the ones they are to replace: that's because the ones they are to replace have stretched over the years. Putting the new belts in place was awkward and required a little patience. If you have money to throw away and no patience, pay someone to do it; otherwise this is excellent value.

This packet came with two belts. I can't be sure that they were the correct size, but they were notably shorter length and thicker than the belt I was replacing. But anyway they fitted and worked.However on the first day the belt broke and when inspected, it was found to have lots of cracks along it, as if it was years old and had perished.I don't know whether this was caused by being the wrong size or the rubber was just old. But it wasn't great. I have put the other one on and it has lasted 2 hoovering sessions so far, We shall see.I would include photo, but think my partner has thrown it away.

I selected a belt that was a replacement. The belt was a lot smaller than the the one I took off even allowing for age stretch. Therefore it took a little more effort to put back on. I hoped it would not put too much load on the motor bearing. It does work ok and I suppose with use it will stretch a little reducing the load on the bearing.

This belt replaces the worn-out and stretched original Panasonic MCE468 drive belt. The two Panasonic original belts as supplied, have lasted nearly 16 years between them ! Hope these new belts are as reliable.As other reviewers have mentioned these belts are quite tight to fit - I don't think the original Panasonic belts were quite as tight. The easiest way to fit the belt is to remove the beater-brush bar. Fit the belt around the motor shaft and tension the belt by pulling the brush bar towards the front of the cleaner and then pushing the brush-bar back into the two guide slots. Make sure the belt is correctly located in the beater-brush bar stop operating arm (and not pressing against it) before replacing the cover and starting the vacuum cleaner. The beater-brush stop mechanism physically pushes the side of the drive belt onto an idler pulley (mounted on the brush bar) when operated, so it's important to only select this when the cleaner is running to prevent damage to the drive belt !!

Because I cannot say that I love two hoover belts, although I am very pleased with them, considering I was quoted £10.00 for the same item from a local electric shop .I will certainly chose Amazon again when I want some more.

About 2" smaller than the one it replaced which was the original belt - a bit of a job to fit but works fine. So pleased to have the beater bar working again. Appears to be excellent value for money but only time will tell. Hastened delivery with supplier - it took 7 days to arrive despite package being labelled with a 48 hour Royal Mail sticker.
