Really didnt want these
Who likes gators..No one, they look a bit naff and it's like you've given into the the oldies hiking life if you have them. After years of putting the purchase off, I gave in (as finally sick of muddy trousers and small stones in boots). Brilliant purchase, short (so don't look daft) and Gore-tex (so don't cook your feet / ankles). Secure and quality material. Should have bought years ago. No muddy trousers / stones in boots now. Now to address the Scottish midge issue and I'll be sorted.

Robust, adjustable, self-supporting and waterproof.
I bought these after an ill-advised earlier purchase of a much cheaper, lighter-weight pair (not the same brand), which needed to be pulled up every five minutes and which had straps which, apart from being oddly placed, kept riding up over the boot-heel. These Trekmaster gaiters are much stronger and self-supporting, a good fit and with the straps sensibly placed need only adjusting to fit once. Good value for the extra money.

Muddy marvellous.
I wear a size 11 (UK) boot and whilst a bit of a struggle to get the pop stud at the front done up, the elasticity of the rear heel helps ease the gaiter into place. The strap under the boot fits well and the gaiter remains secure.Over an nine mile walk across hilly terrain, stiles and muddy forest trails the gaiters performed well, albeit in dry weather.I suffered with no perspiration around the ankle which suggests the breathability of the fabric performed well.My only reason for giving it only four stars was this review was not undertaken in the rain; so full waterproofing was not tested.

Excellent gaiters!
These ankle gaiters are excellent! I tuck my trousers into the top of them and this prevents the trousers from getting wet or dirty on the muddy paths I walk along. I didn’t feel that I needed full length gaiters and these ankle ones are exactly what I required. They also help to protect my boots and keep my legs warmer in the cold weather.

Dry Ankles
Very happy with these, have done exactly what I bought them for. Used on daily very muddy 8-12km dog walks. Dry ankles, no mud on trousers or walking boot laces. Easy to fit, worn over 60 times so far, over 500km walked, no issues whatsoever, no wear or damage. All good.

Too small. Measure your ankle!
The part of my ankle, where the gaiter goes round is 28cm add socks or stockings and your trousers and these gaiters will not fit. Mine are now owned by my wife. Pity. I’m looking for an ankle gaiter that gives sizes!

Good fit, easy to put on and sturdy.
I bought these to keep mud splatters off my boots and the bottom of my trousers whilst going for morning walks. They fit well, are easy to put on and look as though they are built to last. They are comfortable to walk in as there is no sensation of rubbing around the top of the calf, which I've noticed with my longer gaiters. I've also noticed that me feet are warmer when I'm wearing them. They don't take up much space in a bum-bag or rucksack either. Obviously, if you're going to do a lot of walking through knee-deep wet bracken, you'll need something longer but for other conditions they're fine. I'll be taking then with me next time go fell walking.
