SABRE Wireless Home Security Door Window Burglar Alarm with LOUD 120 dB Siren - DIY EASY to Install

As a frequent Amazon buyer I realized that if a product gets at least 4 stars and it has at least 50 reviews than there is no real reason to worry about the product. With this purchase was the first time that my buying method based on the reviews failed. I just can't understand how a product can get 4.5 stars with such a serious design defect. The alarm is small and easily installable and sounds really loud which is good. The problem is that there is a really small switch under the front cover and you have to take it off each time you want to turn it on and off.Let's say you bought this product in order to use it is as a door alarm, just to feel safer while you and your family are sleeping. Each night you have to take of the front cover, switch it on with a super small button and then put the cover back. But a bigger problem comes the next morning. The only way to know by other family members that the alarm is on or off is by taking the front cover off again because there is no alarm/power on light on the device. It is a really frustrating design problem and it makes the product useless ( unless you want to use the unit in chime mode ) because you just don't want to go through this every evening and morning. After redesigning the alarm with a switch on the outer part and a power light, it would be a great product.

These little alarms are amazing! Besides the wonderful price point...they really do the job! There are three settings: 1) chime - its like a ding. just to let you know the door/window has opened. 2) Alarm- this is an ear piercing continuous blaring noise that does not stop until the door/window is shut. 3) off- when you don't want either option 1 or 2. I will be purchasing more of these little gems. My husband is away a lot and this makes me feel safer in my home. At least I know if I heard the alarm I could get my kids and myself to safety and call the police. It would definitely frighten away an intruder. Its REALLY loud!

I needed these because my 4 year old decided he could go outside when he wanted without asking.These are LOUD. There is no way to adjust the volume control. Personally I am ok with this because I need to hear it no matter where I am in the house. They also fit my doors which are original to the house built in 1890 so that's a plus too.

I love the sense of security you can get from a very inexpensive device. My biggest issue with it is that you have to take the battery cover off to arm or disarm it, which makes it less convienet. We will likely upgrade when the batteries for on it to a device that's easier to arm and unarm, but for now it's a pretty good item for pocket change.Make sure your door is pretty close to flush with the door jam otherwise you may have to do some creative work to get the two pieces to line up properly. We have metal doors and I didn't want to screw wood into them so we glued it instead.

I bought these as a stop-gap while I figure out which alarm system I need because there was a break-in in the neighborhood. I had trouble with door mounting because my door mouldings get in the way. There's a narrow strip right next to the door but in some places that strip is too narrow to accommodate the sensor strip. I have an old house so that just might be a quirk of an old house. What brings down the rating for me is that there is no external indicator for status mode (off/alarm/chime) on the alarm. You have to take off the lid to the battery compartment and look at the switch to figure it out. That's not very convenient if you use the door periodically throughout the day and am wondering if other household members might have disarmed or rearmed the sensor. If this was a permanent solution I'd return them, but as they're temporary I'll live with them for now and if I need more I'll look elsewhere.

Great alarms. I installed one each on the front and back doors and all openable windows in just seconds after installing 4 new LR 44 button batteries. The 120 dB alarm is enough to be heard throughout the entire house. Low battery test button. Choose alarm, siren or chime when door or window is opened

Mounting using the supplied tape was difficult. I used a better brand of double faced tape. I chose this model because the allowed gap between magnet and sensor was a little larger than most. It worked reliably with a gap of 3/4". My goal was to alarm a playground gate. I found very few alarms on Amazon that claimed to be waterproof, even those were labeled for pool gates. So, I bought this unit as a stop gap measure until it corrodes from the weather. I was not surprised that the alarm was weak, given the extreme small size of the unit. I was also not surprised that it uses button batteries. I would much prefer two AAs instead of 4 buttons. I gave it 3 stars because it did what it claimed, though not particularly well.

Installed in minutes. Nice and loud with concealed on/off switch.These alarms aren't going to alert you via text message or to police etc...but I've put them on my patio door and back door.It makes me feel safe when in bed upstairs and even if I was out at least the loud news as soon as door opens then it would scare someone and alert neighbours.For the price you can't go wrong for just a bit of extra piece of mind if you can't afford all the bells and videos of other systems.

These are great - work exactly as you would like. I use them for a little extra security at night - if anyone opens the door it lets out a very loud chime. There are three modes, accessible via the battery cover at the front - chime, off and alarm. The chime is a loud doorbell-esq bing bong, whilst the alarm is piercing and continuous.They mount well, and are stuck on.Only improvement points would be a possible volume switch - it's very loud and sometimes you might want a more subtle noise, and it's also a very 'digital' noise, from a small speaker, so it's very intrusive. This is not necessarily a criticism, as that's kind of what you want in these alarms. Anyway, highly recommended.

its o.k. does what it says, & the alarm is excellent, very loud, but no on/off switch accessible, with/if there was switch on side to turn off when you enter would make it 100% perfect. but for elderly, or anyone with problems, i.e shakes. not good.Mind we fitted on garage/shed door, we did buy another one with a on/off switch on the side, very good.

Works well bought for my mother. Same loudness as a shop door opening sound. She is very happy with them.

Received it fast and installed it on the door in few seconds, works perfectly and loud enough for it to make pain in anyone's ears!Would like for it to keep going for a few more seconds after the doors open, but now it stops as soon as the door closes which would probably tell that it a "fake"

Bit bulky on the plug socket, and bit annoying in terms of tunes, but does the trick.

One of the alarms stopped working after three months. I tried changing the batteries to no avail. Dissapointed

lasted 1 week before now only working when it feels like.

Good loud sound...easy to install.. just a shame you have to open case each time to arm and disarm alarm!!
