Scientific Christian Mental Practice

Since I am a new "student" of Christian Science, this book has been very helpful in several ways:1 I have learned by reading this book, how to pray more effectively and mindfully.2 I like the way Ms Hopkins places in all caps GOOD, MIND as they refer to God's goodness and Mind. When she places good or mind in lower case. she means human mind or human good.3 Although this book was written many tears ago, I found it very easy to understand as I read jt with both my mind with my soul!4 I found this book so meaningful, I will be purchasing more eBooks (Kindle) by Emma Hopkins.Highly recommend this book!

In the latter 1970’s, while in my first pastorate, I encountered the author Emma Curtis Hopkins. It struck a note of truth that excited me; was beyond my understanding; and most assuredly beyond the understanding of my congregation. In the years since, after reading a number of Ms. Hopkins’ books, especially “Scientific Christian Mental Practice,” I’ve come to believe there are two kinds of truth: the first small letter “truth” being what I now call “world truth” and “TRUTH” which is the same as God to me.In a quote Ms. Hopkins writes: “It is recognized good that makes us good enough to show goodness. The great wisdom-power within you is ready to spring up, fed with the increasing principle, when you see wisdom expressed in a book, or a man, or, even if you see for a second the wisdom expressed by the flies and the spiders in your house.”If you get to know the author, read and perhaps re-read her works, I believe you (as did I) will become a new person.

This classic New Thought book is one I return to periodically. I am happy to be able to have it on my Kindle so that Emma can travel with me in my large and light-weight library. She was the teacher of the 3 main founders of the New Thought groups back in the late 1800's up until the 1920's.She was an amazing woman, ahead of her time. What a powerful and clear lady she was.

Amazing and thoughtful, very very intelligent.. LOVE IT!!! However if you are getting this for a class be very careful about following along. This is very differently laid out than previous and more popular editions.

Emma Curtis Hopkins is a powerhouse! This book transforms the mind and spirit. Lots of wonderful information is given. I loved it.

I've had this book for years, but never commented on it. Truly one of my all time favorite books. Excellent. The first couple of chapters are slow, but then the book comes alive with a wealth of inner knowledge. Someone commented she was ahead of her time, and I completely agree.

So many preach mind over matter, but no one tells how it is done. If you are looking for Metaphysical Mind Training, "Christian Science Mental Practice" tells you how it's done and how to rid your mind and life of negatives.

Highly recommended to anyone who is prepared to hear the alternative to what he or she has been holding dear and believing to be the utmost truth.
