Yessss, I finally got my movie!! I bought this movie because I'd never seen it from beginning to the end, and it didn't help that it starred on of my favorite actors Mr Joe Anderson. I'm glad I found it for my home collection, I enjoyed it!!

it's so weird watching this, it's a great movie, and for someone who normally hates movies, it's very hard to impress me, but i liked this movie, the ending is too bad but it was still a good ending, and i got to admit i didn't really expect that kind of ending, i thought it would turn out very differently.

I found out the best thing about this movie right at the start. Shia LaBeouf was supposed to play Ig and Daniel Radcliff got the part instead. I don't see why everyone has such a thing against this movie. I have never read the book. Have no idea what the book was about, and after reading the synopsis of the book on Wikipedia, I can say that the book is something I never would have finished. I can't stand meandering writing that goes nowhere.That being said, I will say that this movie was not meandering and it did go somewhere. It got to the point. Did I see the villain coming a mile away? Of course. I've seen too many movies not to have guessed who it was the first time he stepped in front of the camera. But, the journey taken in the movie to reveal his guilt was worth seeing.The movie was funny at times. It was dark and brooding at times. The character of Ig was a mess. But that is what made the movie enjoyable. If he was a perfect protagonist that didn't have any dark secrets or was the typical hollywood stud at 6'2'' and ripped like a Sherman tank, then the movie would have been boring. He was real.The villain was a little bit card board generic cutout of any other, but eh, nothing is perfect.The story was compelling and kept my interest. The scenery was good. The acting was good. The directing was a little all over the place, like he couldn't decide what emotion or tone he wanted in any given scene, and just pulled them out of a hat at random sometimes... but overall, the movie was enjoyable.I just don't get what people have against it. If you like non run of the mill mysteries that have non run of the mill protagonists who don't always get it right, then you might like this movie. Give it a chance. Especially if you haven't read the book. You might like it too.

Underrated Oscar worthy. Crafted in the vein of Cult classic "Heathers " the story unfolds nicely from murder mystery to Classic Greek fable with human foibles on display. Some themes are small town angst projection repression and redemption.

One of the most original movies I've seen in a long, long, time. Kept my attention. If it was a book I'd call it "page turner", because it kept me wondering what was coming next. I wouldn't call it a blockbuster by any means, but for a boutique film...? Good job, Daniel

The cover of this film has more depth than the entire movies bloated runtime. A heavy handed take at a murder mystery with a predictable outcome and religious connotations that end up going nowhere in tandem with the mountains of unnecessary plot points. Has a nice message about gays until they bury them, as is tradition, and on whole left me so uncomfortable at the cringey dialog and pathetic narrative. How dreck like this gets greenlit into films is beyond me and I feel badly that Daniel Radcliff was handed such a limp wristed role such as this after all his previous success (Though the man can rock a set of horns something fierce). Do yourself a favor and pass on this one. I wish I had.

I never knew how good he was outside the wizard movies, this, gun's akimbo, and others, I now realize that he's an actor to be at the top of the list!! Hands down great movie!!
