Richard Sellmer Verlag Victorian Christmas Sleighing Santa German Advent Calendar (Style A)

This is an authentic advent calendar like the ones I used to have when at a Waldorf School. I wanted to share the tradition I had when I was younger with my young daughter and was looking for one that was authentic. I did a little bit of research to determine whether this was really an authentic german advent calendar and it seems like it is. Richard Sellmer Verlag Company has been producing Advent Calendars for more than 65 years and many of their traditional designs date back to the forties. I'm very pleased by this purchase and will definitely purchase another one for next year.

This was not the most exciting Advent calendar I've seen. A few of the windows opened up to show pretty much the same image that was being covered, which was a letdown and seemed like a mistake someone should have caught somewhere along the line... unless this duplication is actually part of the Advent calendar tradition in Germany where it was printed.

Even better than the sparkly ones I grew up with - larger and with lovely graphics and colors, nice themed illustrations behind the doors too.
