Greenlee 1810 Little Kicker Offset Hand Bender for 1/2" EMT Conduit, Silver/Green

We built a new barn at our vineyard to replace two that had been burned in the California wild fires. It was time to electrify the barn as we use if for all kinds of things from building smaller woodworking projects, to equipment repairs, to small scale fermentation. We wanted lots of outlets and good lighting. After laying it all out, I realized that I would end up hanging about 450 linear feet of conduit and would have between 40 and 50 junction boxes. I studied the YouTube videos on conduit bending and while I mastered the three bend and four bend saddles, the right angle bends and the general offset bends, I was spending too much time and getting inconsistent results with the box offsets. Since time was an issue, I purchased both the 1/2" and the 3/4" Little Kicks. For a guy like me, who is very mechanical, but who hadn't dealt with conduit bending for many years, they were the perfect solution. We set them up on a work bench and two of us hung all of the conduit in four days. We have had many folks remark that everything looks professional and it was a cinch to do the bends. We only messed up one. The bid from the electrical to do our work was $17k. We did it for $4k worth of parts, wire and tools. We might have been more efficient has we had experience, but these Little Kicks made it possible to do those box offsets in seconds, perfectly every time.This is not a tool to hang around the house, but if you are undertaking a substantial project as we were, it sure made the job easier. You just insert the end of the conduit , pull the lever and you are done. If you are doing both ends of a long pipe, find a way to mark the sides on which you want the bend to offset. Once we figured that out, this part was easy. I am very glad I purchased these tools.

I came up in the Union in Chicago and these were always the box offset bender of choice, and for good reason. I tried to save some money buying the temco 1/2" 3/4" combo offset bender and was disappointed, it didn't come close to bending a proper box offset (shallow and open offsets). Spend the extra $ on the greenlee and you won't be disappointed. Hit the mark perfectly.

Did exactly as advertised . Saves a lot time if your doing a lot of box bends

I purchased this for one job with a bunch of offset that all needed to match. It worked nice, they all looked uniformed when finished and the time savings was significant.I would not used it for day to day bending on one offset, but if you are going to be ding a bunch of them it is worth using.The Good:Easy, fast consistent offsets in the shortest section of pipe.The Bad:(or at least things to be aware of)A full throw of the handle creates an offset that is larger than most standard boxes. I just put a line on the side of the handle that showed me the stop point for the box I had. Without a full throw of the handle the offset is a little open, but once installed it was hard to notice and the fact that all the bends match made this a non issue.

As a electrician I’ve always wanted this little kicker for my off sets, comes in handy on big big commercial jobs. Takes longer to get it out of the truck then you bend your box offset.
