Paula Scher Maps: Paintings, Installations, Drawings and Prints Hardcover – 19 Oct. 2011

I watched a documentary about Paula Scher and was absolutely fascinated by her large scale map paintings. This book is a collection of different maps by Scher. It's broken into three sections. The first shows the maps with a whole illustration on one page and a close up segment on the next. The second shows some of the works in situ in exhibitions and as installations. Finally there are some other art works and prints. There is very little text but it is clear and self explanatory and it is the maps themselves that are rightly the focus of the book. They are astonishing, detailed and so beautiful. They are things that will repay looking at time after time. I am thrilled with this.

I bought this for a Christmas gift, I was leery of what was described and what exactly I would receive, I have had concerns in the past with other vendors. It was carefully packaged and in fantastic condition! A new one is twice the price, this was a great purchase. The cover of the book is authentic but not what is pictured however, similar. Imagine my joy when I read inside that it was a first edition! Our art student an admirer of Paula Scher, will cherish this for the rest of her life! Thank you!!!

A beautiful, colorful delight! I was looking for a poster on line.....and realized when I received the book and read the plastic band on the cover...THAT THE COVER UNFOLDS INTO A FRAMABLE POSTER!!

If you are a fan of Paula Scher's work you'll love this book. Beautifully printed and an amazing body of work. Where does she find the time??
