Skimped down android os missing a lot of the core android features.
I was excited to get an android based head unit. I’m an Android fan and really wanted that in my car.If that sounds like you don’t get this device...The good.1. Boot time is pretty good. You it does a lot so the 15 second boot time is acceptable.2. Screen quality looks bright and crisp. The interfaces I’ve used look really good and the colors are bright. Movies look good.3. GPS finds the location and tracks like a champ.4. Installed easily enough without instructions. The Bad.1. Bluetooth is run from a 3rd party app. The developers took the built in Bluetooth options out of settings where any seasoned android users would look. This looses a lot of points in my book. The 3rd party app works alright but I haven’t been able to pair my obdii device because of this. A main reason I wanted an android head unit.2. The clock setting options include WiFi, gps and manual. WiFi is not practical so I used gps. Which works for the minutes but is 5 hours ahead. So I manually set the time which is fine, but not when the time resets every time you turn off the car. Huge fail.3. The shipped interface is lame. I played with a few launchers that are really nice, but now the the radio module isn’t available anymore :(. This device is slowly becoming useless. I can’t find any radio apps on the App Store. That are over the air.4. No factory reset.5. I asked for support in the questions section in Amazon but didn’t get a response.6. The touchscreen isn’t as responsive as I would like.7. Didn’t include instructions.8. The 3rd party Bluetooth module didn’t download my contacts so none of the calls have who they are coming from.9. The included microphone is cheap and during install, required electrical tape to put its shell back on.Conclusion: I bought this because I like android and like the 8.1 os. I’m not sure if the developers butchered the system to make it boot faster or what but they cut a lot of valuable meat when they did. The only way I can see the device being useful for me is if I mirror my phone onto it or use android auto. Which I guess it would serve a purpose but thought the device would stand alone and not need to lean on my other android device because of its shortcomings. I am disappointed and am going to try and return this and find another android head unit that hopefully kept more of the core android features and would hopefully have a working clock.

GREAT RADIO, GREAT PRICE!!!!
Great product, way better than I expected. The backup camera is OK, but you can always upgrade later. Supports OBD2 via bluetooth. I am told the hands free mic is better on this unit, than my previous Bluetooth Pioneer radio.Screen is fairly crisp.

Not android 8.1
I ordered this radio under the impression it had android 8 and it doesn’t it only runs 6.0 this things a joke how can you advertise 8.1 and get away with it should have payed more attention to the other reviews. If your looking for 8.0 stay away from this unit.

Mostly good unit, with small drawbacks
Bought this unit to replace my old stock head unit on Mk4 Jetta. Good things are, easy install, easy pairing for the device, the camera is pretty good, the sound is good, the included nav app (Sygic) is pretty damn good even without hotspotting to it, and the included mic makes calls clear. Things that I didn't like: the RCA cable harness doesn't clip on the unit, while the harness isn't damaged, there seems to be nowhere on the actual unit for it to clip on to. Falls out constantly. Easy fix is supergluing the sides of the harness to the unit. The LEDs on the softkeys don't really light up, they can't be seen unless it's nighttime. Bluetooth streaming becomes very, very choppy if you're also connected via hotspot. There are no manuals included for the system, only a manual for camera installation,no online documentation that I could find for the unit. Also, the boot up animation should be able to get changed, but the option is password locked. For the price, the unit is very good. The touchscreen is somewhat responsive, although quite clear. I'd just be weary that some harnesses might cause a problem, that there is no sort of support for the unit, and that using wifi on it while also streaming Bluetooth (something that most android devices handle flawlessly) will cause playback problems. I also bought Asurion insurance because being a cm fairly inexpensive device, I'm pretty sure it's prone to eventually fail. Either way, I'd recommend it. Just be mindful that with electronics price and quality are usually a correlated.

Get it
Awsome stereo for the price, really cant be beat. Wifi hot spot to it and it's the same as having an android tablet as a radio. Spotify, youtube, google maps all run flawlessly. GPS is quick and accurate even their factor nav app is pretty good. Only complaint I have is it didint put out quite enough power to my speakers I would have it turned up most the way all the time. Not that big an issue though because it's much better to just run a stand alone amp to door speakers which I did. Sound quality improves dramatically for any head unit then and now I only usually run 1/4 volume. Had some 15" type r's on it for a while too and it had no problem running that amp either. Definitely reccomend this unit!
