I bought this backpack for a 3 week trip through Vietnam. I used this as our day pack and carry on for the whole trip. I was looking for a backpack with a water bladder and this was one of the few inexpensive roomy options I found. In the pack I was able to fit - DSLR Cannon camera, Instax camera, sunglasses with case, light sweater, 2 iphones, 1.5L water in bladder, 2 cans sunscreen, bug spray, large women's wallet, and random souvenirs. I will be honest I put the cameras in Ziploc bags before keeping in the bag with the water, but didn't have any leaks, better safe than sorry though.The water stayed cold in 100 degree heat for 5 hours(!!). Before we left for our trip I assembled the water bladder filled it with a combo of baking soda and warm water let it sit overnight. We had no issue with a "plastic" taste after that. If you are having leakage at the tube join make sure it's fully tightened.Overall this was a very good purchase and I look forward to using it on future vacations and hikes!

Overall this looks a nice backpack but there are a few drawbacks.1. Firstly the whistle is a gimmick, I was expecting a proper whistle to be attached to the backpack, what you get in reality is a small hole drilled into the side of one of the backpack clips. Most of the time it doesn't work. If you're serious about safety and alerting someone in an emergency then don't rely on this whistle, buy a proper whistle instead.2. The pictures make it look like you can easily slide a phone into the waist side compartments for easy access. The reality is that the compartments are too far behind and you have to stretch round and twist your body to open and close this compartment. It is very fiddly to put anything in these compartments when wearing the backpack. If you're looking for an easy access compartment whilst on the go then this isn't for you. I found it easier to store small items in my own pockets.3. With the hydration pack in place there is very little room left for anything else. I need something to pack snacks and other small items but there is very little room for this.4. The straps are way too long and you're left with a lot of strap dangling around when hiking which I couldn't really tuck away.What do I like about the backpack?1. The hydration pack works and I had no trouble drinking water from the tube whilst on the go.2. Backpack has chest and waist straps so it is kept nice and snug to the body and doesn't rock around or slip off the shoulder when hiking.3. Although it is smaller than I expected the compact size makes carrying it a breeze.So overall it is a reasonable backpack for the money but if I had a second chance I'd buy something else. I'll give it 3 stars.

I bought these for my teen daughters and they are perfect, I love, love, love the water bladder, it's really nice. Here's a tipper for those new to water bladders, when you are done with them - wash & rinse with warm VERY lightly soapy water, bend a wire hanger & stick thru big opening and hang up, this will ensure it drys completely before your next use. Also blow out the water in the tube & detach it from main bladder & stick deep inside water bladder to hold opening completely open. My girls are early teens, & these backpacks fit them perfectly. Great introduction to hiking. What is really nice when you are hiking is that you are not busy with carrying a water bottle & you don't have to stop to take a drink, you can drink on the go and have your camera handy to take photos. Super great deal for the price!!!

I bought two of these (for my son and I) as we trained for and eventually hiked the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim (24 miles) in one day. This pack was PERFECT! It fit everything we needed, plus more. We filled the bladder completely, and put liquid electrolyte bottles on both sides.If I’m going to complain at all, there are two small things...the side pockets aren’t very big, so I couldn’t get my iPhone 8 Plus in it comfortably. That was fine, as I carried it in my pocket. The other is that there wasn’t a perfect spot for hiking poles...I finally ended up tying them to the handle at the top, which worked.I carried a jacket, a gallon size ziploc of snacks, poncho, emergency blanket, first aid kit, sunglasses, over 3 L of water (tgeblasder carries 2.5, plus my bottles), extra electrolytes, tissues, salts, hiking poles, foldable down coat (clipped to the outside), keys, pocket knife, plus about 8 other kids items. This got me through 24 miles, and I could have fit more! It’s a great size...I’m 5’2 and my son is 5’9, and it worked great for both of us!

This is a GREAT backpack. Well made and has an insulated section for the water bladder and additional sections for all the stuff you want to carry for the day. Nice looking and fairly comfortable. I had to take one star off because unfortunately, the drinking tube on my water bladder has an air/water leak. I get air in my water, and the tube drips. These things happen, but I'm glad I tested my equipment BEFORE I hit the hiking trail! Emails sent to the seller's contact info they give on their product info bounces back. I was able to send a message through Amazon Marketplace and they are sending out a replacement bladder with drinking tube to arrive in a couple of days. I appreciate Rupumpack's quick response and their rep's effort to make it right because my trip is next week. (Grand Canyon!) Amazon customer service was also really excellent in trying to resolve the issue. It's nice when something goes flawlessly, but it's also appreciated when a merchant and Amazon quickly address any issues that do come up.

I love this backpack! It has several large pouches with zippers. Each pouch has lots of room, and there's even an insulated pouch that you put your water pack and lunch inside. That part right there is my favorite because it keeps your water cold and keeps your sandwich fresh! The water pouch they include also comes with a dust cap, which is perfect; there's nothing worse than having a mouthpiece covered in dirt and grime. This backpack is an unbelievably good deal for the price.
