Beautiful Album
Item as described and well packagedThis is a good example of why people collect Vinyl in the 1st place. The Artwork is awesome though Kate Bush is my wife's thing and not mine the albums sounded great and played flawlessly. My only complaint is with USPS .... the mail lady literally threw shipping box onto our porch from about 15 feet away. This is where the packaging comes in and thankfully the album was well packaged and arrived undamaged.

Listening to this CD is a great deal of fun
If one is used to a lot of repetitive lyrics, Kate's writing frees you from that drudgery. For the CD 'The Red Shoes" there are a lot of flavors (back cover photograph is a clue). The track 'Constellation of the Heart' has one of the funniest arguments between two parties. 'The Red Shoes' has an Irish influence - and you'll just have to dance 'til your legs fall off - or become a helicopter. 'You're the One' is a tale of having to let go after a relationship - Kate makes her feelings known in an obvious fashion. 'Rubberband Girl' is a story about being more flexible - the video you'll find online is a total hoot. 'Why Should I Love You' is Kate's duet with Prince - 'nuf said. Two guitar gods - Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton - add to the fun. Get this CD and know real songwriting.

This Is A Review Of The 2018 2 LP Edition Of 'The Red Shoes'
Perfect! This edition sounds better than the CD of course & surprise surprise, better than the original LP, thanks to Doug Sax, James Guthrie, Joel Plante & the ever dependable Bernie Grundman. The pressing is flat, rice crispie free & there are even poly lined inner sleeves!Grab it while you can. Everything is so limited this century, hur hur

An underrated album
This album is seen by some as one of the weaker in Kate Bush's catalogue, but I disagree: it is in my top five with The Dreaming, The Sensual World, Hounds of Love and Aerial. The album is let down by the opening track, Rubberband Girl, which is not one of Bush's strongest singles. But a welcome feature of the album is the wide variety of song styles - many upbeat - and great musicianship (including contributions by Jeff Beck, Gary Brooker and Eric Clapton). Standout tracks are The Song of Solomon and Top of the City - although the versions of these other The Red Shoes songs are sometimes better on 2011's Director's Cut.

Astonishing audio
This has always been my favourite KB album, and the sound quality on this is simply stunning. I don't even mind that it is spread over 2 discs, it is just sublime. I'm hearing things in the background that have escaped me before. The only reason I bought this is that I never had it on vinyl and I'm so glad I did. Tempted now to get the rest :)

Kate at her best
Firstly let’s get to the sound quality of the CD which is excellent. This piece of work is up there with her best. The variety of music and rather is great and her voice has not lost any expression, detail or diction. This is a seriously good CD….just get it and you won’t be disappointed…..

The best sounding Kate Bush Album
Perhaps not Kate's best work in terms of music, but sound quality is outstanding on this record. The album is growing on me though and I do like it, certainly I would recommend if you are a big fan and there are some really good tracks. Albums are great for listening too and finding all the lesser know tracks anyway, as some are real gems, even if not to everyone.
