Cure everything with proper posture. Not!
A bunch of useless mumbo jumbo.

Worth it for the mindset shift
I definitely recommend this book if you’ve been a long time sufferer of chronic pain in any area of your body whether its through injury or any other reason. The concepts explained are eye openers and this is probably one of very few books that explains why we have pain and its relation to movement, posture and emotions. Its also one of the rarer books that gives actual solutions. I have been working with an Egoscue trained specialist for about 1 month and have noticed incredible improvements. That said, if it wasnt for my therapist encouraging me to read the book, i would have given up on it much sooner. The narrative style is quite poor and it took wafting through a good couple of chapters of self important waffle before getting to the good stuff. Also, the exercises seem way too basic, but are surprisingly more powerful and effective than anything else ive ever tried which includes but is not limited to Yoga, Pilates, Tai chi and Qi Qong.

The author has my number
Read this book as ive reached the end of my rope with my pain and mood. Not sure where i stumvled across the name, but glad i did. Thr book reminded me of alan carrs easyway to stop smoking. Its not just a case of heres some exercises, so them but instead a really good way of building confidence, motivation that it will work and the reasons why you are still in this situation based on one of several personality types. The book has some woo woo but its fairly light and i find that it complements wjat i have been told by the nhs in the way they talk about pain. The nhs talk about amplified nerve signals in the case of chronic pain and how your neurons learn these paths, but this book talks from the opposite end in why that process starts in the first place. Adjust your posture and realign your major axes and you feel the difference quickly. i was surprised by the first pigeon toed exercise. Subtle, but it was there. I have done it several times since and same result. Im doing the exercises and i have definitely had a reduction in my pain, an increase in energy, and an uplift in my mood and belief that i can put this period behind me. Amazing tbh

Naked Awareness
Awareness has become a buzzword in so many fields but Pete Egoscue bring us back to the simplicity of it by taking us back where we really belong: here, now, within the bound of our skin, to the heart (literal and figurative) of our body.An excellent read!
