Fox Run Marble Cheese Slicer, White, 1 Replacement Wire, 3841COM

Works great. I ended up dropping the handle down and that little marble piece broke in 1/2. My fault but it doesn’t affect the functionality of the product. Should have bought. A cheese cutter a long time ago.

Early days yet but slices cheese blocks cleanly and looks sturdy. Also, elegance with ease of use has been a talking point for guests!Came without second wire and I contacted seller. They got back to me in 48 hours and will mail me extra wires tomorrow so happy with responsiveness. Now to figure out how to change the wire when I need to. Hopefully, a long time away.

The solid slab of marble is great, heavy. However, the legs are hard rubber and slide around my countertop, which isn't good. I cut a strip of anti-skid rubber to put beneath it when I slice. The wire works but you must take your time and may still make imprecise slices. Nevertheless, this cutter is much easier to use than slicing with a knife.I was a bit put off by the product when the first wire snapped after only 2-3 uses. However, I have been using the second wire for a year and a half! It broke tonight and I ordered a 5-pack of replacement wires. All in all, I am pleased.

My husband recently discovered the art of smoking cheeses, which left me with numerous blocks of delicious cheese and no way to slice them so, of course, I turned to Amazon to solve the problem. I decided on this particular slicer because it's nearly identical to the one my mom has owned and used for nearly two decades and I've always liked hers. As expected, this cheese slicer does its job just as well as moms.The wire was slightly misaligned when it arrived, but that is easy to fix by simply unscrewing the handle some to loosen it and repositioning it. So far it's sliced through at least 20lbs of cheeses (swiss, mozzarella, cheddar, colby, jack, mixed and marbled cheeses...) without issue and without breaking the wire. It's as simple as sliding the block over a little if you want thicker or thinner slices, and it's easy enough for even my 5-year-old to use when he feels like helping at snack time.UPDATE:We recently moved, and our last wire snapped in transit. After searching I didn't see any wires made by Fox Run available for this slicer, so I decided to try these: Replacement Wires for Compact Marble Cheese Slicer (Green or White)-Set of 4. They worked out well enough, though they are about a quarter to half an inch shorter than the original wires so getting them on and in place was a bit more of a challenge.

This product came in missing one of the 4 foot pads so it doesn’t sit correctly on my countertop, it wobbles. Also, there’s a small chip in one of the corners of the marble. Overall, poor quality.

It works exactly as described. Good quality and easy to use. Arrived on time and in perfect condition. I definitely recommend it.

My first wire cheese cutter. I cut medium cheddar, works ok.I saw several reviews complaining about the wires not being the right length and stretching out rather quickly. Yes, they do. However, you can rotate the knob that holds the wire to tighten the wire.In the photo I show the knob after it has been rotated to tighten the wire. Make sure to put the wire on the proper side of the little ferrule so that it will tighten as you rotate the knob. Due to the flat on the shaft you will have to manually hold the knob in the rotated position as you slice when the wire first stretches. Once the wire stretches enough that it rotates past the flat you can tighten the knob against the round part of the shaft.I have sliced three 2lb. blocks of cheddar and still on the first wire. I am rotated not quite 90 degrees so far so I should get a bit more life out of this wire. The stretching seems to be slowing down. I hope this helps.

É um cortador manual e por isso não esperem algo fantástico. Cumpre seu objetivo. Realmente te corta bem, mas para isso você precisa alinhar bem pois se não as fatias saem tortas. Mas é muito bom 👍...um fio veio quebrado

I really like the weight of the cheese cutter and the non slip feet. My only issue is that the groove is angled upwards, so the wire doesn't cut through the cheese on the one side. You need to hold the cheese block and the slice that's almost cut through and lift it away from the board while holding the cutting handle down. It would be better if the groove was deeper. When the wire has just been tightened, it does cut better, but still doesn't go right through.

I bought this cheese slicer for slicing my homemade soap, and I am extremely pleased with the quality and ease of use. The marble slab is heavy but manageable, with cushioned footings. The wire came taut and cut through my soap smoothly and easily. It looks elegant and functions beautifully.Pros:-Heavy, beautiful marble-Functional wires, with three extra included in the set-Compact slicer, fits on my bookshelf in its box when not in use-Cuts soap perfectly-Easy to cleanCon:-The base is a little bit shorter than expected, causing my full soap bar to hang off the back. This is not really a problem, though, as I can balance the soap.On the whole, I heartily recommend this product as a cheese or a soap slicer!
