Clover Needles, Applique/Sharps No. 9, Black/Gold

These needles are sharp and glide easily through fabric.

Bought these for hand-sewing hexies using silk thread. They are sturdy, with a tiny eye that works well with the silk thread.

I've been spoiled by these needles, they're so thin and move so delicately and smoothly through fabric. When I try to sew with other needles (from sewing repair kits or big box stores), I've found myself stopping after the first few stitches and switching back to these. My old needles now feel so thick that I worry I'm damaging the fabric in comparison to these.A bit of a warning: I bought the No.10 Sharps and the eye is so tiny an ant could use it as a fleshlight. Had to go out and hunt down a thread that will fit, and only found one cotton thread (my preference) that fits. I'll be buying more of these needles in different sizes in the hopes to accommodate the rest of the thread I already have.

The other needles are in perfect shape and will sew nicely, but for the cost of them, the strangely bent needle in the middle is a loss. The package showed no sign of having been opened, so this probably happened at the time it was put in the envelope to ship. It's clear someone HAD to press their thumbnail into that needle to damage it.

I really like using these needles

These were suggested by the online group that is making the Millefiori quilts by Willyne Hammerstein. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are noticeably better than other needles. I used it sew on a binding and they are able to nip into the fabric so sharply, that my stitches never went through the batting onto the front of the quilt. Usually I have a problem with this and check often. They are much more expensive than other needles - but an extra 5 or 6 dollars to have needles that are a joy to use is well worth it.

I actually received the wrong needles. I ordered the appliqué needles but received ‘quilting’ needles witch are short for appliqué. I will keep them but I still need the others. Clover black/gold needles are nice, slip through fabric and are very sharp.

I’m working on very small embroidery pieces and when I found these it sounded great. I opened the package and laughed at how tiny the thread hole was. You will need a threader ( spit doesn’t work lol). They do slide very easy through tight spaces. As you pull it through multiple layers of stitches it does flex very nicely. The problem after about 6 pulls through it snapped in half. If your very careful these could work out good so I’m giving it 3 stars, but watch how you pull it through. Trying the next needle...let’s see if it’s a fluke. I will update later.

easy on the fingers and goes through fabric seamlessly, does not catch. I thought it might brake with all the layers I was going through as I saw it bend but it's a tough little needle - I have broke different needles with this sewing.

Really pleased with these needles. I bought them to sew down some binding on a quilt and they are so very sharp! Just glide through the fabric. The eye is extremely small but it would be, I suppose. Can be tricky to thread but worth the effort.

I am a serious sewist and find these needles are the best I've used. They are exceptionally sharp and smooth, making them effective.

Would highly recommend to anyone who hand sews. These needles glide through fabric with ease and don't bend.
