Applied Magnet Review
Originally purchased this magnet to open a gated community gate that I visit to service my clients and their pets, but it doesn't work on the gate because the gate is weight-activated, as opposed to having a sensor...but it does work well with sensor traffic lights, so I am please with this product. Also, being a really strong magnet, I can put it under the motorcycle and forget that it is there, as it hold really well onto the engine block, without any need to additional support from a zip tie.

WOW! Really Strong is an understatement
First of all, please excuse my non-technical review. I'm not a physicist nor am I any sort of magnet expert. I'm just a guy who's curious about magnets and wanted some strong ones to play around with.I just bought 2 of these and I don't think I've ever felt a magnet as powerful as this. I had a hard time getting into the packaging and thought, "what's all the fuss about"? When I finally got to the magnets, they were separated by wood and I thought, "Oh come on...that's a bit much". Then I tried to separate them and immediately learned why the packaging was so much. These are really strong, powerful magnets and I've pinched myself many times already and I just opened them about 3 hours ago. I then got them stuck together, without the wood, and I'm not sure how to get them apart yet. I can only twist them a fraction of an inch and there's absolutely no way I can just pull them apart. I'm going to have to twist and pry them apart because the attraction is so incredibly strong.Regarding the seller (Applied Magnets), the shipping was fast and the transaction was simple. This is a good seller and an excellent product.

Motorcycle Magnet
My motorcycle sometimes wouldn't trip traffic light sensors & more importantly wouldn't trip the automatic EXIT gate sensor where I work. I read online that a strong magnet attached to your bike would make those sensors think you were in a car, and trip lights, security exit gates, etc. IT WORKED. I bought two of these magnets, attached them to my bike, and I don't have to worry about getting someone at work open the gate for me. Traffic lights change too. Be careful while handling these magnets though. They're shipped to you with a piece of wood separating the two magnets. If your finger (or any other part of your body) gets between the two magnets, prepare to experience pain. Also, if the two magnets attach to each other, you won't get them apart....ever; (unless you build a special all-wood contraption to split the magnets apart from each other). The supplier shipped the magnets quickly, and the price seemed reasonable. If you have a requirement for a special-need magnet, these are the GO TO guys.

Perfect for finding studs in wall. The perfect stud finder
I have tried multiple stud finders. Cheap ones and expensive ones, all are pretty much ok but none great. The best ones work on magnets that orient to the metal in the stud and then show where the stud centered.Rather than buying a cheap model with plastic and weaker magnets, buy this item. Simply place it on the wall and sweep the wall. The metal nail in the stud will grab this magnet and you will know immediately where the stud is. The magnet literally will "go" to the nail and show you where the stud is. It does depend on the nail being in the middle of the stud, but it is easy to identify multiple studs in the wall and know where the middle should be.And it's fun to use.So, get this, a great stud finder.

This magnet is awesome! I glued one of these magnets to the underside of a telescoping magnet used to pick up nails and screws on the floor or roadway. I use it to clear an area of metallic junk before I metal detect a location, the powerful magnet sucks nails, screws, wire, and metal objects right through the grass and dirt. Don't get me wrong, it won't get nails and screws buried under the soil, but those laying on the ground that will interfere with the metal detectors ability to pick out a good target. I may get two more and glue them on just to have the additional magnetic power, but then I may look like Einstein with all that power at my fingertips.

GREAT!
I got just one of these magnets. It's like the size of two kit kat bars (if you break a package into the 4 quads, it's two of those together. so half a kit kat bar? whatever.) and it's VERY strong. I stuck one end to my fridge long ways, and held the other hand like a handle, and leaned on one foot away from the fridge and it easily held my weight (160 lbs) even with jiggling and bouncing a bit. I had to pry it off the fridge. using it to hold wires, but I'm sure I'll have fun. Applied magnets is a great company. The material WILL CHIP if you slam them together or something, it's not a total toy.

Inadequate warnings on the magnet strength .
These magnets are far stronger than the average (uninitiated) hobbyist would expect to encounter. To the point that hand injuries in handling are a real possibility. Also, they are extremely brittle,( however that point was adequately warned.) I both injured a finger and chipped a magnet within the first few minutes of opening the box. Since they were then damaged, I didn't feel I could return them, so I gave them away with a strong warning.

Super Strong
These are perfect for what I do- buying second hand precious metals and costume jewelry, but they are not toys.Magnets allowed to get too near each other can pinch skin or strike each other with enough force to chip and shatter the brittle material, and the flying chips can cause injuries. There have even been cases where young children who have swallowed several magnets have had a fold of the digestive tract pinched between the magnets, causing injury or death. The stronger magnetic fields can be hazardous to mechanical and electronic devices, as they can erase magnetic media such as floppy disks and credit cards, and magnetize watches and other clockwork mechanisms and the shadow masks of CRT type monitors at a significant distance.
