CASTMATE Pop Rivet Marine Grade

The rivets worked and installed great with zero failures on any that I applied, BUT...I had sort of assumed that being "Marine Grade" that these rivets would include an O-Ring, or gasket material of some sort to sandwich between my kayak and the rivet to prevent water from leaking through...they did not. The problem was relatively easy to remedy with a pair of scissors and some rubber gasket material, but for the price, an inclusion of said O-Rings would have been very nice and probably looked better than the fix that I had apply as a result.

Decided to get these to help with the installation of a few items on my kayak. These worked great, however, they did not snap off at the base, very easily. I had to do some bending back and forth, and then had to use a Dremel tool to smooth them out. Even so, these did the trick and it was not too much of an inconvenience.

I was not impressed with these rivets at all. I had plenty of rivet behind the material, yet it would not spread correctly so I don't have high hopes for long-term durability.Furthermore, out of the 20 that I used, 9 of them broke off pre "pop" halfway up the shank, so I had to cut the rest of the shank off at the head and file the remaining portion down.I will not be trying this particular brand again. I also bought the Scotty brand rivets, and have had zero problems with them out of the 30 that I used on the same project.

Real stiff on the price, But, These suckers are real hard to find. Fastenal company wanted to sell me 5,000 of them!!! They can kiss me where the sun don't shine on my lilly white behine...

These work exactly as they should, I installed some extra pad eyes on my kayak and for some of the hard to reach areas I used these pop rivets instead of bolts. I did take the extra step and put a dab of silicone sealant on the rivets as an extra precaution to keep everything watertight. So far they are holding wonderfully.

While repairing the fishing rod mounts on my Ocean Kayak, I originally used standard rivets with washers. Those pulled through the hull after taking a big wave and dumping the kayak on a beach, so I bought these for the second repair. I like how the plastic flares out to provide extra pull-strength, and I feel like these rivets will last for quite some time.

makes installation of 'yak accessories easy when you can't get to the inside to use bolts and nuts. Be careful NOT to try and pop rivet something that is thick to your hull using these, they won't pull up correctly and will pop out. I found this out the hard way, but it isn't the rivet's fault. Recommend!

Works quite well with my rotomolded plastic kayak. I've used these to attach additional pad eyes and bungies, they work very well and seem secure. The seller initially sent fewer than advertised but once I notified them they quickly corrected the situation and without grief. I'd be happy to buy from them again.
