Better than expected!
There seems to have been different releases of "Saturday Night Live: The Best of Steve Martin "; I'm writing about the march 2007 release with the jazzy face pic of Steve; the description is not accurate: it says "80 min"...well, actually, it lasts 110 minutes (1h 49min 30 sec); wow, that's a good start; the menu has "Feature", then "Scenes", then "Extras"; in "Scenes, they only list 6 titles (why?); I ran the "Feature"of 110 min and clicked on 'next' 22 times and each time you have a different sketch, they do include the Coneheads, the "Festrunk Brothers...(or wild and crazy guys", if you prefer) and indeed, the hilarious King Tut song/sketch (that's the eight sketch); NBS/Lionsgate could have made a complete menu but whatever, you have 22 sketches, 110 min of hilarious sketches plus about 18 minutes of extras (never before seen dress rehearsal of a skit with Alec Baldwin, a photo gallery and other fun extras; I was 23 yo when SNL made it's debut and I do remember many of those funny scenes and it only took me about 2 min. to my first laugh (I never laugh, I smile usually), But dear Steve Martin in in a class of his own; still funny, still my favorite comedian; to anyone who feels like I do, I strongly recommend this unique DVD (the 2007 version), the price is really great and I'm saving this DVD for dull moments when I need a good laugh; enjoy, it really is as good as I described!

Hit and Miss...
I've purchased several of these "Best of <whoever>" SNL videos, and so far it's been hit and miss as far as the choices they make for which skits to include on the DVD. The "Best of Tom Hanks" has so far been the most disappointing, and the "Best of Alec Baldwin" has been so far the most pleasing, and this "Best of Steve Martin" falls somewhere inbetween.Still, if you are a Steve Martin fan, this is certainly worth purchasing, especially for the "King Tut" classic, and for the banjo monologue and for the hilarious competition between Steve and Alec for the record of most times as a host of SNL. I'd probably give this one 3 1/2 stars if that was an option.

The Best of Steve Martin
I'm a Steve Martin fan. I enjoyed this DVD very much. There were a few pieces that didn't center around Steve Martin that sort of left me guessing, but in general the parts of Steve Martin on SNL that I remember were as good as ever seeing them again after a long period of time. Steve's KING TUT is toward the end and is my all time favorite. It's a good buy for the money if you remember the earlier Saturday Night Live days.

Buried in his Jammies
I love Martin's movies and books and even his early albums, but there was something pure and authentic about his early SNL sketches, and you get all of that here. It's innocent and silly and smart, and a great introduction to early Steve Martin.
