I'm not a mechanic or auto-pro. Bought this unit to scan the check engine lights on my older cars. I have used this scanner on 3 different cars, a 2002 volvo S80, a 2002 Audi A4 Qattro and a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero, all the major auto manufacturers- Swedish, German and Japanese. It worked great, read all the codes and was able to correct the issues based on them since it points to the right direction. Since this scanner is also able to erase codes, I was able to find out the issue is a temporary one or something needs to be addressed right away. Very handy tool for any DIY enthusiast. It saved me a lot of bucks, which otherwise I would have spend at a mechanic shop. I was able to spend only less than couple of hundred on oxygen sensors rather than spending thousands on catalytic converter on one of my cars from what I was told by my mechanic. I'm planning to buy at least four more to give as gifts to my brothers! Great product for the money! I love it!!! Owning one is great since you don't have to wait till the parts store open up for business for a free scan.

As a person who has been in the Automotive industry now for half of his working life, I find this product to be significantly satisfying. It does exactly what is advertised, has an appealing look for the garage, and is easy to operate overall.I would suggest this product to anymore who has the need to diagnose vehicle issues and/or monitor current sensor readouts.The monitor system is especially useful when diagnosing issues within the air, fuel, electric, and temperature systems.Easy to read layout as well.I purchased this for my father and he liked it so much I had to borrow it.We used it to diagnose problems on 4 separate vehicles so far including domestic, foreign and two gas/electric vehicles with ease.As I know, doing my research (as I am sure you have done so far) before purchase, there are many, MANY of these scanners on the market. While I cannot speak for the rest, I would highly recommend this one as I know it works well and is simple to use.Cheers

Bought this for my husband for Christimas 2016. When he tried to use it he found it needed an update. I followed the instructions for updating online and the device wouldn't work. Then I emailed the manufacturer and never heard anything back.When I plug the device into my computer, the driver's get installed, but the screen on the device stays blank. (see pic).Very unhappy with this purchase.

I had a maxi scan ms 300 that works on my 1997 Jeep Wrangler but not any newer Jeep nor Dodge products (2010- 2013). Sent it back and got the joylux for a very few dollars more. Works great.Plug it in and the display says what to do. Displays distinct error problems. Tells if they a minor problems, and will erase engine light. I am more than pleased.

My car got engine light on and I would like to get some idea what is wrong with my car before take to shop to avoid rip off. It is easy to connect to the adaptor under the steering wheel and it shows the error code and I can look up online to find out my O2 sensor is broken and tell a local shop to fix it for $130. It is a great tool for beginners to learn error code in the car.

Works great to read codes and diagnostics but can not update on the computer to the latest firmware. Screen goes blank when hooked up to the computer and instructions and website are extremely vague in description and instructions. Other than that it works well but would really like the update to make sure it has the latest codes and diagnostic information. Would be 5 stars if that was working.

It is a fine tool. Worked immediately, fit and finish seems good. Mine did not come with the blue plug-end on it as pictured, but I assume that is not a problem. My 2003 Toyota showed as a KWP2000 protocol. It gave me the trouble codes and then what the actual problem was - catalytic converters. Vehicle information is not supported, maybe because it is a 2003.

It's simple and gets the job done. Used it to diagnose a check engine light. Found one of my ignition coils was bad. When I took to mechanic before I purchased this item he said the engine shaking was due to the motor mounts and wanted to charge me two thousand dollars. Glad I didn't believe him and ordered this handy tool. Gets the job done.
