This is a robust flashlight that outshines regular flashlights.

Delivers a strong light and then you have two kinds ...
Delivers a strong light and then you have two kinds of problems (shortly after purchasing the product): 1. The switch stops working, so you can't turn the light on and 2. The light will not get bright. Very disappointing product! I'm surprised that the Chinese would distribute such an inferior product internationally. I'm accustomed to attention to product quality by the Chinese, but this product definitely does not deliver that. I have two of these flashlights, and now neither one functions. Again, extremely disappointing and very surprising that the Chinese would generate such an inferior product.

Compares Favorably To A Car Headlight
This little monster puts out MASSIVE amounts of light. It isn't technically designed as a long distance light thrower, but it works as one due to so much light being produced. The CREE T6 LEDs put out 1000 lumens each, so this 6 LED flashlight doesn't quite make the 8500lm claim, but the amount of light produced will make you believe most any number.I just took this flashlight on a trip which included touring Harrison's Cave in Barbados. With my camera in my right hand and my flashlight in my left, I got great photos of everything. The flashlight overpowered the lighting system in the cave to illuminate the best features, plus it revealed many additional great features which were otherwise lost in the darkness. A camera flash is only good for a car length or two, while this flashlight illuminated the far side of the largest cavern, hundreds of feet away. Before the end of the tour, multiple tour guides were writing down every number and letter on the flashlight. They had never seen a flashlight that could do what this one does, and they definitely never imagined it could be so small and affordable. On that subject, my flashlight says "Skyray King", but doesn't mention "Elecunion". It was purchased from a popular online auction site, and some of the online reviews at CandlePowerForums claim that many different Chinese companies manufacture this flashlight. If there is a way to tell which is which, and if any of them are better, I don't know it.Tips & tricks: When you get your flashlight, unscrew and lubricate all the metal threaded connections with Vaseline or an ointment (the threading isn't bad, but metal on metal threads can bind up to where you need pliers and do damage). There is a bit of a slow drain when the flashlight is off, so unscrew the head half a turn, to where the flashlight won't turn on, to keep the batteries from being drained when the flashlight won't be used for an extended time. Push the spare waterproofing gasket ring down around the outside of the batteries to push them tight together, and keep them from moving at all in the battery compartment (they don't move much otherwise, but no movement is better). With the flashlight on, hold the on/off button part way down to get a blinking light. Add an inexpensive 18650 battery charger, plus some rechargeable Ultrafire 186050s, and you'll be ready to impress everyone who sees this flashlight in action. If there is a better flashlight available for under $40, I sure haven't found it.

Not too bright
It's ok. Not as bright as my old similar SkyRay that I purchased 2 years ago. I would estimate this light to be about 4500 lumens. These lights, when they first came out were pretty much to their specifications, now there are so many cheaper clones and spinoffs of the original.

Great flashlight but don't buy flat top batteries to use with this. Make sure you get button top.

Brightest light I own
Whats not to like? I bought this several years ago and it sits on my desk where it is handy. Has helped me several times when the electricity went out and it lights up the entire room. Batteries are rechargeable and going on about 3 years in the flashlight.
