An Introduction to Acoustics (Dover Books on Physics)

I wish there were small form factor references like this in all subjects!
I was very pleasantly surprised when this book arrived at my doorsteps. The book comes in a very compact form, more like a large paperback novel than your traditional giant brick textbooks. Also I don't mind it since the book is so reasonably priced compared to other textbooks that I can carry this around and mark it up, unlike those other "tomes" on my bookshelf. As for the content, I would say this is decent as introductory material (undergraduate level math/physics/engineering accessible). If you delve any deeper into acoustics, you will end up with more references beyond this. The style of the textbook is more old school/classical, so don't expect a bunch of example problems, fancy diagrams, and LaTeX formatted equations. I would say all in all that it's a nice intro to a vast topic and is adequate as a starting point or to feed curious minds. I just love the price and size of this thing since I'm used to buying reference texts which are hundreds of dollars only to have them collect dust on my bookshelf.
