Update: 3 years 2 months
I bought this belt for just under $40 in May 2019 (just over 3 years ago). I wore this belt probably 50% of the days. It finally broke at the buckles pivot point. PRO: It has been a great belt and the ease of adjustability is so convenient and comfortable. The synthetic leather has held up fairly well, but has had a split in the middle for some time; right at the base of my back when I’m wearing the belt. CON: the buckle is a bit heavy. Sometimes I wear my belt for “looks” and not to actually hold my pants up. At times, if I don’t have the belt very tight it will slouch down under the button of the pants which just looks weird. Though, that’s only noticeable when I wear a tucked in golf polo.Overall, the adjustability and comfort has made it impossible for me to go back to a regular belt. If the weight was cut down a bit and if the “leather” was a bit more dense it would be a nearly perfect belt.

Latch stops working after a month
Overall I was initially very happy with this product. But after about a month, the latch that closes the belt buckle stopped snapping into place. Now it's essentially always slightly open.

and will cut clean with a nice pair of scissors
UPDATE:I just saw this review in my history, and figured I'd update it.So, after a few months, the detent keeping the belt flush wore out. It was rather annoying, and something I couldn't do anything about without replacing it. I tossed it somewhere, probably ended up using the belt to make something else, and completely forgot about it after replacing it. It was nice when new, kinda cool, but didn't last very long at all. I've since moved on to a belt with no moving parts, no holes, and quite a bit more adjustability.I haven't had this belt long, just under two two weeks. No complaints yet.The belt itself has measurements so you can cut to just the right size, and will cut clean with a nice pair of scissors. It's rather easy to install the buckle, and just as easy to remove if you were to swap with a different color belt. I ended up getting the mocha brown myself, simple and it goes great with just about everything (same with a simple tried and true black belt). The buckle feels solid, and seems like it'll last a good while. I've heard some complaints that it's too heavy, but I think that's to be expected from a full-face solid metal buckle. Even then, it's not excessive. The bottle opener is a nice little touch, the gunmetal finish is attractive. As for the operation itself, it's better than every other traditional belt I've owned. With the quarter-inch increments, it's quick and easy to get the right fit with whatever you're wearing. Removal is even quicker, in case of emergency (whatever the emergency is).Overall, I'm completely satisfied with this purchase thus far.

Nice box to store old pictures when you used to be skinny and not need a Slidebelt!
I needed a belt for my griffin and unicorn since they had a HUGE INTERVIEW At the Fictional Animal Care Center (the best one in the Multiverse.....well, Shangri-la Care Center in Universe 9356 has a better rating) anyway I used the belt for both of them and they got in! So now I can use it and look nice and not worry about eating my leftover Chipotle on my long downtime selling beds at a mattress store company that seems to have more locations then Starbucks. And on reddit people seem to think we are a front for the Mob or a money laundering scheme for Putin since they think we sit around for hours all day eating Chipotle and getting a big belly and adjusting our new Slidebelt and writing long weird questions or reviews on Amazon. But that's a joke. We are so busy all the time with stores in the same shopping center there is no way I would have the time to sit and write some long and weird insane review....right?Wanna buy a bed? I can even sale you a Purple and match Amazon prices!

From the Sharktank to your home
Ok. Like many I saw this product on Shark Tank. I thought it was pretty neat but was put off by the price of the top end. After my wife bought me the top end one as a present I loved it so much I bought this one for casual every day use. While cutting the leather to fit was scary at first, it is actually pretty simple to do and it cut surprisingly easy with a good pair of scissors.Pros:- It fits PERFECTLY. Because of the ratchet nature you no longer have the limitations of the spacing of the holes on the belt.- If you are losing weight then you can keep adjusting it down without buying a new belt!- Looks very nice- Different buckle options at least give you the option of changing belt buckles for a different look (I will probably never do so)Cons:- If you gain weight you may have to buy another one depending on how small you cut the belt.- Has a maximum size. If you are very big individual you are out of luck.- Limited selection of colors/styles/buckles on Amazon

Solid product - no surprises
I deliberated for quite a while before committing to the slidebelt. Overall I am please with the quality- both the belt and buckle seem appropriate for a belt in this price range but the real question is the slide mechanism. It is different from a conventional belt to be sure but it is not dramatically better or worse. Biggest change to me is it requires just a bit more concentration to put-on and remove than a regular belt but only by a small amount. The only real advantage is that it seems to offer a finer size adjustment than a conventional belt, nice but not generally needed. The other plus is the customization of the length of the belt, I would caution not to be too optimistic on your waist size (as I was), start a little large then you think you need and then trim it again if it is too long.

Overall Good Belt
I have had issues in the past with belt holes expanding overtime and eventually ripping. When I received this new belt, the functionality worked great. It was easy to set up and use. I have been wearing this belt, daily, for about 15 months and just had it rip out where the claw teeth are. It was an easy fix as I re-cut the end and re-attached, works great again. I have noticed some of the threading on the edge of belt starting to come undone as well. Overall I have been very happy with this belt, eventually I will need to replace the leather strap.

Was happy with it until the belt buckle broke off
I was happy with my purchase until the metal broke and now I can't use the belt. Not sure if the belt was just faulty or if it's a permanent weakness in the belt.I just wore it as normal didn't throw it around or anything else.If I can't find a separate belt end then I wasted 100 dollars on a belt that is perfectly fine if it only had a new end.

Enjoy this belt
Enjoy this belt, fits comfortably and the slide belt buckle works nice and easy in my opinion. Even if this is "animal-friendly" leather (aka not leather) it still looks and feels good with a pair of jeans.

poor durability
Bought the belt a few Months ago and already having issues with it. Buckle finish is rubbing off but only aesthetic. Major problem is the teeth that looks in the buckle onto the belt material keep streaking out and I have to cut a piece of the belt everytime to renew it...this keeps happening every week or so...I will be running out of belt length pretty soon
