Just what Blu_ray needs
For all of you out there wondering what this cable is useful, the answer is, Blu-ray.My DVD player Burner finally broke down so I need to replace it and discovered how cheaply the new Blu-ray s.ata drives are so I order one so I can start watching some of my Blu-Ray movies on the computer. Got it installed and try to use a Blu-ray movie and I then learned that my PC cable to my monitor is an analog connection. The software looks for the digital feedback and since it analog, it will not accept the analog connection. Kept getting Error 0121, I then looked over my Monitor and discovered it has the HDMI jack on the monitor, so I order this cable, hoping that would do the trick. Now I can watch my blur-ray, I do have a fairly new computer and monitor and the video card is a GTX 260, with 2 digital DVI output and even though my second monitor is a DVI source, it still did not work (to old of monitor). Also I discovered that the firm wear for my card also changes to accommodate the digital setup. I also noticed that the sound to my stereo speakers also greatly improve once this cable was hooked up to my monitor and video card. This was a very simple fix for what could have been a major problem (buying a new monitor).

good for the price!
January review: Good for the cheap price since it works well - sometimes has a little shaky connection but it still has a clear picture, even after a couple months.10 month update: Still working effectively! I have not used it daily, maybe once or twice a week (ideally for movies or if I need an extra screen to work with on my laptop). I also use this with a Mac adaptor. The reason why I got this in the first place is because it was the only connection that worked with my adaptor. I'm pretty surprised it has lasted this long, but its still going. Definitely would recommend for a cheap HDMI!

I needed HDMI to dual-link DVI and was somewhat wary ...
I needed HDMI to dual-link DVI and was somewhat wary given the reviews left. But for me it worked without a hitch. Either I got lucky, cables from different vendors are being mixed in, or people don't know what they're doing. All I can say is that I'm getting 2560x1600 no problem going from a Macbook Pro to a CalDigit USB-C dock, HDMI out to a dual-link DVI monitor.

Not what the website says. Isn’t a dual link cAble
Cable works well but I didn’t receive the one I expected! Description says it is a DVI dual link but the cable has less pins than a dual link and the packaging says it is single link. I specifically ordered dual link as I know Lenovo laptops sometimes require it for extended monitors. That said, it connected right away and has higher resolution than my vga to hdmi adapter so I’m happy with that part. I haven’t tried the better sound quality with the dual link provides.

The pins may look like dual-link DVI, but high resolution (QHD, 2560 x 1440) is not supported
This cable cannot support QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, even though it claims to support dual-link DVI.I tried on three different computers with three different OSes (Linux, Windows 7, Windows 8), and in none of the cases was the computer able to display anything on the QHD monitor. Under Linux, the monitor was recognized as attached, but could not be enabled, and the correct resolution (modeline) could not be identified. Under Windows 7, the monitor was not even recognized as being attached. Under Windows 8, the monitor was recognized as attached, but display could not be enabled, even though the correct resolution was identified. Moreover, on one of the computers, the HDMI port can support up to 4k resolution, so it's not a problem with the HDMI port.I was suspicious when I saw that, despite the dual-link DVI pins, the cable seemed to be much thinner than my other dual-link DVI cables. Unfortunately, my suspicions were confirmed, again and again, when I actually tried the cable.

Update my monitor input
Purchased this so I could use my new Raspberry Pi with a DVI/VGA only monitor. HDMI is probably the wave of the future. However, I ended up buying a new monitor with HDMI input. So I really didn't need it. But this was a very good price so I kept it to use when I want to use another monitor for a demo. It works well.

works fine
So far, the cable works fine. Compared to other cable, the price of this cable is very attractive. Recommend this product.

Does exactly what it's supposed to for my situation, and for a GREAT price!
First, a little history of my situation...I had built a Hackintosh using a Gigabyte Radeon 6850 video card, which has 4 outputs: displayport, HDMI, DVI-I and DVI-D. I had been using the HDMI and DVI-I (with a DVI to HDMI adapter) outputs for my two displays, until I got a new TV, so I wanted to hook that up as well. So I bought a displayport cable to use for the one monitor that was on DVI-I - worked great - but then I needed a way to hook up both HDMI monitors (ie: TVs) to the card as well, so I tried this cable. It worked a treat, and I was able to run all three displays off my card. My setup is now: displayport to displayport monitor, DVI-I to HDMI TV using standard adapter, DVI-D to HDMI TV using this cable, HDMI to HDMI on one TV but is inactive (for some reason all three displays won't work unless there's something plugged into all ports on the card).TL;DR this cable works great for hooking up an HDMI monitor/TV to a DVI-D (active) port. My ONLY wish is for it to be a bit longer, but given the price, this is fine! Oh, and it only took 2 days to ship within Ontario - bonus!

Had for a few years. Still going.
What can I say? It's a cable, it works, and it's still working. Gold plating and good pricing made this a good choice.
