It's PERFECT
Okay here's the scoop! I don't usually write long reviews but I really wrestled with this purchase due to the hefty price. I know others are wondering so I wanted to review it well.I have bought three other cages and quickly realized they were cruel and too small for my Syrian (who's a chubby gal.) Had I bought this cage size sooner and spent the money I would've saved about 150 dollars and the room in my shed that is holding three empty hamster cages! This cage is BIG. It's PERFECT for a Syrian and would be even roomier for a smaller size hamster like the dwarfs. The bar spacing is small and perfect. All the reviews speaking about cheap, broken parts...I didn't find. It came over pacakaged in my opinion and everything was well built, just don't hulk grip the tubes and take your time! The directions are pictures only but it doesn't take a rocket scientist. My son is 9 and helped me and he told me "it's like building legos, study the pictures before you move on." So, a nine year old can build this cage.THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE is the top house and tubing. I've included pictures of this issue so you can see. If you use wood chips or any bedding in the top house that is loose it'll fall into the tube and potentially trap your hamster in the house. The chips fall in and the hamster can't pass. I wish the tube jutted out from the side of the house so chips didn't fall down into it. I solved this by using some fleece from my guinea pig house and making a little "rug." My hamster digs at it but it won't go through the tube and I can wash it. Problem solved. The little built in huts are neat, my girl is pretty chunky but she fits still. A smaller hamster would love them. You could put treats or a sand bath in them. The litter box...my hamster could care less. This could be used a sand bath too but I put food and seed mix in it. She climbs in like a sit in buffet. The inserted play shelves can all be removed and you can design this cage how ever you want, there's so much room the possibility is endless. The slide and ladder are smooth but my hamster can use them easily with the raised ladder "steps." I like that the top wire portion isn't super tall, my Syrian needs floor space not vertical climbing room to heaven. My wire wheel hung perfectly (she pees in plastic ones and makes a gross a mess so I didn't use the wheel included.) The water bottle doesn't leak, the cage is sturdy and everything is secure. For those saying their hamsters escaped, I would be willing to bet it was because the tube housing wasn't properly snapped to the wire cage top and they slipped out at the base of the tube. Snap and wiggle everything to ensure it's secured before letting your little critter free in the cage.Great product!! Look no further. They don't sell anything this good or big in pet stores. They should because the cages they sell are cruel!TOTALLY worth the money even though it's a shame companies charge this much!

Great investment for your ham!!!
This is going to be a LONG review just because I have a lot of good things to say about this cage!! And a few cons, of course. First, the PROS: I am first gonna start with how MASSIVE this cage is!!! In one of the pictures I compared my old cage to this new one, and the size difference is beyond comparison. I can't even believe that I had my poor Hammy Styles in that tiny cage for so long. Because my Hammy Styles is a white winter dwarf hamster, she had a little difficulty going up and down the tubes/tunnels when they were originally set up to match the manual, so i McGyver'ed it a little and made it so she can still access her green hideout but its more of a gradual incline, since she's so little :) But I was really happy to see that you can kinda set things up how you want to in order to best cater to your ham :') The little green hideaway at the top is great, Hammy isn't quite used to it yet but I'm sure that spot will eventually become a favorite nap spot. The green and pink floating levels are great, and I love that there are food bowls on each one AND a snuggly igloo, my Hammy LOVES them! I plan on adding a little wooden bridge to connect the two floors, just to add some extra fun for her. As for the green and pink "ladders" (slides), she did struggle a bit at first trying to go up, because they're steep and slippery, but after a few tries she got it! She's a little dwarf hamster and was able to get up the little ladders, so I don't see Syrians or larger sized hamsters having any problem with them. Because I didn't configure the tubes as the manual did, I closed off the two holes at the top of the cage using the caps that were provided with the package! (Love that they were included). I used some of the leftover tubes as toys on the bottom floor of the cage, and my Hammy couldn't be happier. The litter box is so cute, we're only on day 2 of the cage so Hammy hasn't quite started using it yet, but it's still a nice little nook. In one of the pictures I tried to get a good picture of Hammy but she's so excited about her new cage that she can't stop running around everywhere and exploring! (Hence the cute fluffy grey blur XD ) Now I know that this cage isn't totally perfect, so here are my CONS: The wheel is not great, just because the stand isn't high enough, so the wheel pushes into the bedding, making it impossible to spin. Because of this, I just used my old hamster wheel, but this isn't a big deal. I also used my old water bottle just because the one I had was better quality than the one in the package, but again, not a big deal. Also this one is IMPORTANT (!!!!): the big gate of the cage needs to be locked in TWO NOTCHES, not one. Having only one notch creates a big gap in the cage that could enable your ham to escape!! However, it's really easy to notice, and it almost becomes second nature putting the gate onto the second notch. This cage was a litttlleeeee frustrating to put together, but use a gentle hand and it's fine :) And it's totally worth it too!! Seeing how happy my little Hammy Styles is ALREADY makes this (expensive) purchase totally worth it :)) Go spoil your hammy!!!!
