It is possible to play this game on a new PC but you will have to use a program like DosBox to make it work. It'll take a little practice and patience to configure the DosBox program correctly, but I'm running this game on Windows 7 just fine.Without DosBox, this program will not work because Windows 7 / 8 only support native 32 bit environments. This game was written in a 16-bit environment and doesn't load correctly. Even with the Compatibility mode, it still won't run. But DosBox is free, and with it the game does work.
