A+ for those who are "Do It Yourself" - cannot go wrong with this system!
Update 10-6-2015:We added external 3T HDD to the system (via USB cable) and the NVR recognized it with no issues. Formatted the HD via DRV interface and now it has 4 T total space for the storage. OUTSTANDING!!!Original review:We endured some serious search to locate an affordable system here on Amazon and eBay. What mattered to us were these points:1. 1080p quality2. Ease of set-up and functioning, administration3. Plug and Play schema4. Product support.5. Price6. Flexibility of wired/wireless set-up.When we came across this particular JideTech system, we contacted their sales/support to see how prompt would they be to answer our questions. Well, their return e-mail came within 1st hour with thorough explanations and directions (questions in regards of which Hard Drive specs we should be on look out for this system). So, after a few weeks of deliberations we decided to "bite the bullet" and proceed with purchase of this system. Our installation was/is rather complex - log home. Where we were unable to run wires - we installed a strong WiFi repeater and installed 4 cameras with wireless option while other 4 cameras are wired. The system has performed very well and IR is strong at night clearly seeing objects 100' away. Motion detection works very well and can be adjusted from lowest setting to a very sensitive high. We adjusted ours to "Lower."Here are important points for all those who decide to buy this system:1. Purchase 3Tb hard drive when you order this system. We purchased SeaGate (for NVRs) HDD: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007JUFKLI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s012. The directions/instructions (printed) are good, but ask for changing IPs to local area network (from 192.168.1.10) - we did not take this step as our network is not overcrowded and reserving (from 192.168.1.50 to 192.168.69) set of IPs for this system via router was a breeze.3. Make sure your IP is STATIC. Meaning - your ISP has to assign you static IP for your router. Most residential DSL are dynamic, but for an additional $10 they can assign static (just a tip).4. We have an older Windows XP laptop and set-up with this machine was very simple. The provided CD has all the software and guides (the guides are translated from Chinese and are a bit awkward in English, but they do make sense). We mostly utilized "Device Manager" program and NVR embed software - did not utilize the rest of it, but it does contain additional software that might be helpful to others.4.a You will need to use "Device Manager" software for setting-up wireless option on cameras. Connect camera via ethernet cable, plug power supply, open "Device Manager" on your laptop/computer and "Search IP" - you will have NVR (if it is already hooked-up to the network) with 192.168.1.9 IP address and cameras populate with 192.168.1.10 for wired IPs. Open WiFi settings and enable it by searching your wireless network (it might say it did not find the network on your first try - try again - it will populate eventually). When you enable WiFi on your camera, it will create an additional IP - wireless IP. Change Wired and Wireless IPs to your range reserved at router (as an example - we changed all 192.168.1.10 to their respective 192.168.1.50 - 192.168.1.59 for wired and 192.168.1.60 - 192.168.1.69 for wireless).4.b Keep a log for each camera - which IP was assigned. You can identify each camera by their respective MAC address populated on "Device Manager" software.5. IMPORTANT STEP!!! Please make sure your cameras are zoomed and focused to their best by adjusting bottom screws on cameras (the first one towards lenses is zoom, the last one is focus). Do this step BEFORE you install the cameras! The reason is - it will be huge hassle to try adjusting these settings on installed cameras while away from your TV screen.6. Connect NVR to your ethernet and power it up. Right click on the screen for all the options to be listed. Go to "Guide" and make sure it is "Cloud enabled." Proceed to the screen where you can "Search" - once NVR recognizes the cameras - they will be listed out. Left click on one camera and than left click on the position (1-8) on the bottom side of the screen to where you want it to be positioned and click "Add." Any time you wish to get out of this screen to view cameras - right click on camera screen again and you are there. Once you have it in from of you - it will make more sense.7. We connected our Samsung Smart TV to NVR via HDMI. The connection is outstanding and works like charm.8. The set-up of the remote viewing is the BEST part of this set-up. No port forwarding needed, no need to contact your ISP. But get an app (we have Android phone) and populate credentials via Serial Number on your machine. We used "xmeye" app and it has worked very well on 4G phone.9. The support is GREAT! Any question or concern - the seller is SUPER fast at getting answers to you.HIGHLY recommend this system for those who are "Do It Yourself" or someone who has access to such resources. It took us a few hours to set it up properly, but once it was set - no need to mess with it any more - automated for recording and viewing via remote app while away is a pleasure. No need to forward ports, no messing with router settings - exactly the product we needed.

Wireless camera system
I purchased this system in Aug 2015. I returned it for these reasons.1, Camera enclose not sturdy (pop metal)2. Several camera images turned upside down, could not correct3. Could not set up several cameras on the network or to the DVR4. Picture quality did not appear 1080, very fuzzyI waited this period of time to see if the company improved its system. I did purchase a different system (that was wireless) and it gave me a great image and was easy to set up. I am now looking at a commercial system that uses POE and has Ultra HD.I checked Jide Tech has nothing close. If you want a great system, you have to pay a bit more.I give 1 star for system partial working and another star for the company issuing a refund.

Overall we like the video system
The tech support helped and showed us how to setup the cameras remotely. All cameras are working well now with their help. The only one negative point is that the default language is in Chinese. Overall we like the video system.

High Quality Digital Camera System
I've purchased 2 of these systems for customers. One of the highlights of the product for me was the ability to set up the remote viewing through Hughesnet. With Hughesnet residential, it's not possible to set up a DDNS service to connect to the cameras, but the cloud enabled capability of this system resolves all of that. The customer was very pleased, and even more so with the quality and clarity of the 2 Megapixel cameras. The varifocul lenses were a nice bonus as well. It allowed me to focus in on things like the cash drawer to give the customer a better idea of what was going in and out of the point of sale system. Finally, I like the zoom feature built into the NVR software. Simply left click on the screen, then drag a box around the area you want to focus on, then move the pointer inside that box with the cursor, left click, and BAM!!!! Instant Zoom!!!!!P.S. A month after installing the system, a shoplifter stole some items. When the investigating police officer took a look at the video, he said, "I've seen a lot of camera systems, and this is one of the best".
