Be careful when you order this add-on item
My daughter told me to get this brand of ant bait. I would have ants crawling around my sink and they were obviously coming in from the louvered windows right above the sink. I was also having ants crawling around on my dining room table and they seemed to be coming in from the louvered windows of the dining room. I put these on the kitchen counter and the sills of all the windows and I didn't have any more ants. I then started putting these on the sills of my living room windows and this has taken care of the ants who were nesting somewhere on the outside of the living room wall. I do need to replace these often as the liquid dries out fairly quickly, especially the ones placed on the window sills.HOWEVER, as these are an add-on item, be very careful about the items you order with them. I had ordered a gallon of car wash concentrate which missed the $25 limit. Later that day, I realized I needed to order my dog's brushless toothpaste sticks so I ordered two 18 ounce packages which met the $25 limit and then added on the three boxes of the Amdro ant bait. Unfortunately, both orders were consolidated and they put the gallon container, the two 18 ounce packages of my dog's toothpaste sticks and the three boxes of ant bait into a large cardboard box along with two short strips of the air-filled plastic bags. Needless to say, the gallon of car wash concentrate slide around freely in the box, smashing one box of the liquid ant bait thoroughly so there was liquid ant bait all over the bottom of the box when I opened it. I have already commented on the utter lack of common sense used by the packing department in "packing" these items but want to warn those of you who are planning to order this item.

Worked for me!
I notice a lot of reviews love this product and others think it stinks. There seems to be no middle ground, which leads me to believe that it is effective against some types of ants and ineffective against others, which makes sense since different species presumably have different pheromones to which they're attracted. These traps work very well against the ants we have in Southern California. I've tried several others and some of them were effective as well, but most of the others had design flaws that made them easy to spill their sticky bait on the floor or counter. Because these open on the top, they contain their bait well and since you don't have to break or cut anything to open them, they are not prone to spill on opening. At first I thought that the tiny top hole would be ineffective because the ants would not have easy access, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. Our ants come back a couple times a year and I simply stick one of these in their path. It takes them a few hours to find the bait, but by the next day, they're always gone.

Works to control indoors and outdoors
Could no longer find this particular form (liquid) of Amdro at the local store. The gel form does not work at all for me with the small, common ants here in Orange County, CA. I've had very good results with these liquid bait stations. Just put in path of ants, and they do the job in day or so. I usually get a toothpick and make a path of liquid to the opening of the bait station reservoir, and this speeds up the process. If the line of ants is on a wall, then I sometimes use masking tape to place the bait station in the direct path. Once the ants get after the bait, the line of ants turns into a super-highway and it's easier to find where they're entering from outside, and then I put a another bait station out there. Once done, I put the little white polymer cork back into the bait station for using the next time and spray the area outside. When the bait station gets older, the liquid dries up a little, so I add some water. Good luck.

Seems to be helping
I've had a lot of small ants in my bathroom/kitchen/bedroom all season long (DC suburbs), even though I have sprayed various things on their trail. They appear to originate behind the fridge baseboard area, or in the bathroom loose tile at the floorboard maybe? This past week after my housekeepers had deep cleaned my condo, I put down 3 traps--one behind the bathroom door, 1 in the linen closet, 1 under the fridge, and I have seen a lot less ants crawling around. I have also added a cotton ball doused in peppermint oil to my vacuum cleaner, so between the deep clean, the traps and the peppermint, something is having a positive effect.

Life changing
The media could not be loaded. Never have I enjoyed buying ant bait stations. In my opinion, I might as well have a rip-roaring bonfire and throw the money into the flames in a show of enthusiasm like a lunatic - might even kill a few ants in the process, which is more than I can say for the previous ant bait stations I’ve purchased. Cheer on like-minded wanna-be ant killers - this is the promise land. I first saw it at an estate sale. Hundred of ants were in a thick trail to and from this bait. I took note. I had never seen ants excited and lined up, ready and willing to be poisoned. Meanwhile, the multiple brands of pathetic bait I had purchased were sitting at home and might as well have huge neon signs flashing “DANGER.” I was so fascinated to see a bait actually working - the way they all *say* they do - that I may have spent a strange amount of time watching the flow of ants in a relatively public forum. Regardless, I ordered the bait. These little buggers are running around, lapping it up, and gleefully taking it back to their den. I don’t know what to tell you. This is life changing. Order it. You won’t be disappointed!
