I purchased this on January 15, 2020. I installed it and it has been perfect for me. The reason I am writing this review is because my item suddenly stopped working. I thought well I actually like this, let me call their support and see if there is anything they can do. They offered me one potential tech solution that may fix the issue. However, even if the issue is not fixed they said they would send me a new one as there is a lifetime warranty on the product as long as I show proof of purchase. Customer service was polite and helpful even though there wasn't much they could do. So even if the tech suggestion doesn't work and the second one craps out on me, I still got my moneys worth and had a positive experience with their tech support. I couldn't ask for more for a 10 dollar product.

I needed this for a lamp. It works great.

I have to spend a lot of time in bed because of debilitating chronic pain and it’s been difficult for me to reach the switch on my large bedside lamp. Sounds like a small problem but when you’re in pain, little things like that become much bigger issues. So I’m thrilled that I took a chance on this push button switch!It was well packaged, and the quality of the switch and the fabric covered cord feels like something from a high end lighting store. The push button itself has a thin piece of silicone on the bottom to ensure it doesn’t slide around or damage a table top (with a keyhole style opening for wall mounting, if desired). Because it’s so well made, pressing the switch button is the most satisfying feeling— my family members enjoy just waking over and pressing the button. Sounds weird, but you’ll probably enjoy it, too! I’m now trying to think of other places I could use a push button switch! So cool!Pressing the button does make the a tiny little “click” sound, but it’s actually quieter than turning the switch on a standard tabletop lamp, so it’s nothing to be concerned about. It shouldn’t cause anyone else in the room to wake up, if that’s a concern.Because the surface area of my nightstand is valuable real estate, so to speak, I decided to mount the push button on the side of my nightstand using a medium Command adhesive strip on the back of the push button and a few Command clear cord clips to keep the cord nice and neat (see photo). Because the switch is mounted on the side, you can’t see it unless you’re looking for it. And it’s easier for me to reach, so it was worth spending 5 minutes to “install” it with removable adhesive.If you decide to use an adhesive to mount your push button, just remember that NOTHING will stick to silicone so you’ll need to peel off that little silicone pad from the back of the push button first, then clean the surface with rubbing alcohol. I saved the silicone pad in case I ever decide to use the switch in a different location (I just put some blue painter’s tape on the sticky side of the pad and tucked it away in the drawer).I’m laughing at myself for spending time writing a review for something so insignificant, but sometimes it’s little things like this that can make our lives better. I paid full price for this on Amazon, and have not received any discount or consideration for writing this review. I find reviews to be helpful, so that’s why I take the time to share my experiences with others in return. I’ll update my review if anything changes (I rated this 5 stars for durability since it’s so well made that I’ll be shocked if it doesn’t last), but so far I would say this is the best thing I’ve bought on Amazon in a while!

I have a light in the garage that plugs in to the outlet up on the ceiling and that outlet is also connected to my power strip where I usually charge my phone at night. Unfortunately, when I turn the light switch off, it also turns off my power strip and thus can't charge my phone at night. Before this gadget, I would need to get on a chair to unplug the light from the outlet on the ceiling and do the same when I needed the light and plugged it in. For a while I was usually my little lap as the main source of light in the room since I was tired of having to get up on the chair every time, but that could only go on for so long.This gadget allowed me to plug the light onto the gadget into the outlet and turn off the light without turning off the light switch. Now I can charge my phone!! No more hassles with unplugging the light with a chair or working in the dark. It was exactly what I wanted and worked exactly how I needed.

I have gotten four of these switchable plugs since I found them a few years ago. I use them to turn on banks of hanging overhead LED lights in my basement, daisy chained to approximately 200W per plug. These are an important solution because none of the outlets in the basement are on switches, so my only option to turn them on and off at the wall is with a product like this. Be careful, though — this item should only I’ve used for switching light loads and not serious appliances (see below).Especially in older houses like mine, I can definitely imagine these being useful due to the more limited electrical systems. But I also see potential uses in areas where one might like a switchable item (e.g., lamp) and an always-on item (e.g., phone charger) running off the same plug. The wire is fairly attractive and the switch is non-obtrusive.This particular item uses a digital switching circuit to flip a relay at the plug, as opposed to switching the AC mains voltage. This method has the benefit of the switch end running only low voltage DC, but the drawback of complexity and durability. I had one defective unit that I returned and replaced through Amazon (relay would not stay closed past a couple seconds) and one unit that was accidentally burned out by a repairman in my house plugging in a vacuum. In the vacuum case, I wasn’t really surprised the unit failed due to the high inductive inrush current. I attempted to open up the plug in case there was an easy fix (e.g., replaceable fuse). It was clear very quickly that the unit was not going to open up for me, which is fine and fairly expected. With repair out of the question I cut the unit open just out of curiosity for how it works. An externally replaceable fuse would be a nice design upgrade, but isn’t really expected for a product of this nature.

I connected this to the little lamp at the head of my bed. Perfect for the way I expected it to work for me, being it was very awkward to turn on and off with the turning switch. A relief, because I liked the lamp a lot! Seems durable, like it should last a long time. Length of the cord is just right. Has no effect on brightness, nor dullness of the lamp light (in case you're wondering!)

Not sure why the first two pics loaded sideways.... I wanted a pendant light over the kitchen sink, but our old house doesn't have the box for the wiring. I fabricated one with my desired pendant light, an extension cord that was modified to wire to the fixture (Google 'How to Turn a Hard Wire Light Fixture into a Plug In' and you'll get plenty of great info about how to do it) and then this handy switch. The cord length allowed me to plug it in behind our refrigerator and I used command cord hooks to hide the cord up under the edge of my wall cabinets. The switch essentially hides in plain sight.The cord is nice and finished looking and if you use a flat plug like I did for whatever you're plugging in, the additional amount it sticks out from the wall is minimal. Mine plugs in behind my refrigerator.The switch makes an audible click at the outlet when pushed. The cord is "finished" looking - as opposed to a plastic coated cord - which I really liked even though mine doesn't really show. By using the command cord hooks I didn't need to secure/mount this to the wall, but that is a great feature. These would be great for a table top lamp as well.

Just what I wanted, I have my power reclyner and my table lampb pluged into the same wall outlet, In the day time I turn the lamp off when I am in my reclyner when it starts to get dark I stick my hand down at the top of the shade and turn the light on I have big hands and arms I always get burnt and it is dificult to turn the lamp on and off. Now all I have to do is push a button. Very easy installation.
