The 5 foot would be too short very likely. Would recommend the 6 foot one. You can measure from the front where the hood latches to the vehicle around the engine through the firewall and under the steering column. We highly recommend that.

Yes it should as the 5 foot version is usually for compact cars.

Q: Is this compatible with 2012 Toyota Highlander?

These are universal units, however, we do not recommend the ignition interrupt feature on newer vehicles with electronic ignition systems. For proper length, one must measure from the front of the hood where the hood latches onto the vehicle, wrapping around the drivers side along the engine, then through the firewall and under the steering column where the actual lock mounts. Customers should confirm proper length before purchasing.
